Why to go back in the bubble/return?

I am out in the space again somewhere, since couple of weeks and start asking myself why should I return to the bubble?

To sell scan data? This will give credits but I have a lot already and dust on top of my anaconda...
To raise the ranking? Doesn’t changes anything in the game except entrance to bubbleareas...
To get my first scans bagged? No one cares on the name in the space and posing doesn’t catches me...
To Powerplay in the bubble? Its not my kind of gameplay...
To meet other Player? lol, no comment...
To repair the ship? This could be a serious reason but until now its not necessary...

So, why?

Figure out who (if anyone currently) owns the permits for those sectors 45kly out from Sol, on the other side of the galaxy... And go find the thargoids!

1. To try role play as a ' psyco maniac serial murderer'
2. To get my wanted bounty up to 1 million.
3. This is where I am- To do all that then get bored and head out again but just a an hour here and there every few days to relive the reparative strain injury on my new game

Founder world permit for discounts?
Plus the buzz of docking, without a docking computer, after x months out in the black.

I wonder that myself too....I was on a bit of a lull after returning from the core, cashing in my data & becoming ELITE in Exploration & buying my Python. I then just bumbled around for a couple of days then went out for a short trip, tried mining in the Python - borrrrrrrrring as .....!!.
Returning after a couple of days, i decided to make some ground in becoming ELITE in Trading (cos i certainly ain't gonna get ELITE in combat - I HATE PEWPEW!!!).
But after a few days i was back in the black again & Im currently checking out some Neutron Stars & White Dwarf's.

For now, I am happy to return on occasion, to upgrade, trade and do some pewpew... but I suspect a day will come, when I head out never to return to the bubble :)

Looks like no real reasons to get back but still we do. Maybe just to do something else than just FSD from one gal to another. This is boring, too after a short time - at least for me.

Maybe the problem is not to find a reason to get back to the bubble. Maybe the reason is more, in the space I have the illusion to be able to do much more. But lately after max. 1hr I realise that even in the space its all the same and I start playing something else.

A pity because I spend a lot of cash for HOTAS, 3 Monitors etc.

Been out for a while myself and I'm headed back in now at my leisurely pace and "ooh! a squirrel!" distractable disposition. I'm looking forward to selling the data. Not really for the credits or the first discovery labels, but just because I like balancing the books. I do kind of wonder if it will take me as long to sell the data as it did to collect it. If it does then I guess I'll be using the credits to buy a scarab...

Unless you have a specific reason to be in The Bubble (mine is flight lessons), the only reason to go back is to remind yourself of why you're out there in the first place.

Feeling exactly the same, especially since Power Play has been released.
A bunch of fools making regulated wargames in a super small bubble/cage, when just outside the tiny border there are billions of systems with pristine resources.
And the awfull Interstellar Cartographics Institute that doesn't allow you to share exploration data with other explorers and only records your findings in your map, to the point that the outsourced galaxy maps (see signature) are way more helpfull and accurate than the official ones.
"Civilized Bubble" seems the fool's block to avoid, they don't even deserve my data.

So yes, only repairs are the reason to come back once in a while, in the first encountered outpost and then off again.

Yes, bad form to quote one's self I know, but this has turned out to be mildly prophetic; I've had enough of The Bubble, I'm outta here!
