Looks like we have to register as a group and decide on a Gov, Description, Location and Allegiance
we already have a name and a leader :D

As for location, a lot of people want Timocani, but from what I remember it's a pretty barren system. Only outposts.

...maybe set up base in 109 Virginis? *wink wink*

...

I mean c'mon, Wizzard only beat me in getting the first UA by like 10 minutes, I deserve some credit too D:

/grumble

EDIT: And Wishblend and RatKing and Nilreb. They might have been there too. Probably. Yeah. There. Now we all get credit.

we also need to consider the possibility the minor faction becoming a power :D
don't want to be stuck in the middle of them all!

So someone has tried taking it to Wiccas world in Alioth System right? Considering its the home of the Alien research centre i would have thought it would be a good place to take it. (also - Wicca = Withes.. with space ?) Maybe check the bulletin board once there with it or contacts?

Im sure this has already been done, but my search turned up no reports of this.

Ratking, in need of some help to get a conda? If so, PM me. Can help.

I want to grind up to my ships though and I prefer the cobra over an conda as it can avoid scans and dock much easier and faster, plus I'm adjusted to it while an anaconda will take a long time I feel.....

You sir, are one of the science heroes. Fine tests.

But when they come, don't tell them that I said so.

o_O I'm a hero? WUHHHHHAATTT?? How?

What do you think they will do when they find out we eat cows and slaughter whales?

Uhhh.......they'll understand our culture and most likely try to get us to understand theirs and change ours......for this I refer to a stargate episode where they meet a civilisation that almost completely sterilises the earth through medicine.

guess Government is Dictatorship, location is important we need a science station and a blackmarket (start selling UA's to ourselves ;)) and I assume we are Independent? oh cant forget the Tinfoil Hats :D

I vote for 109 Virginiss being our starting point! As it's where the first UA was found and also who would do that trip to the station there if they weren't dedicated to our cause to have already done it to try to get a UA?

I add this too to my post about setting up :p

I edited my post after I realized what you were trying to say, you just lacked words.

I didn't lack the words, you failed to think about what you were reading. "Dark matter is detectable only due to its mass". "[object] is detectable only due to [property of object]". It's a simple enough statement. I can't really see how you could fail to understand it. It's a lot simpler than "[object] is detectable only due to [interaction resulting from property of object]", which is what you're proposing as an alternative.

Must be the sleeping pills who knows haha !

I would say that "dark matter" is a convenient fudge factor to allow physicists to remain loyal to the current standard model of the universe. There are some experiments being designed and carried out at the moment to directly measure dark matter's existence in the laboratory but we'll have to wait for results.
As it stands the only place where dark matter has any reality is in the convoluted maths of the theorists and the even more convoluted nonsense of the media.

It certainly is a name for something we don't understand. But that something is as real as anything we can detect from earth. There is something out there that has a gravitational effect, like matter, but doesn't seem to interact with anything in the way normal matter does.

The "Magnificent Seven" - a group of 7 neutron stars.

The term Magnificent Seven was initially applied to the sources RX J1856.5-3754, RBS1556, RBS1223, RX J0806.4-4132, RX J0720.4-3125, RX J0420.0-5022 and MS 0317.7-6647. However, it was soon shown that MS 0317.7-6647 is, in fact, not a neutron star. Then in 2001 a new object fitting this classification was discovered: 1RXS J214303.7+065419/RBS 1774.
Since 2001, no new good candidates have appeared. All seven sources were discovered by the ROSAT satellite.

It's a very interesting system!

I'm seeing two Class B stars, and lots of planets (hoping some of them could be high metal ones), very similar to Pleiades: it could be a nice place for lone UA spawn...

I'm happy that my 7 Bull's heads theory hit your interest and curiosity... ;)

Update to it.

Pleiades Masses:

1 Maia - 13,6
2 Taygeta - 11,6
3 Alcyone - 8,5
4 Merope - 5,24

5 Asterope (2) - 3.5
6 Celaeno - 3,8
7 Electra - 2,6

not in the original Seven Sisters
Atlas - 2,8
Pleione - 4,55

And here are the Pleiades, ordered according to the 7 markings on the UA, using masses:

3 Alcyone
1 Maia
4 Merope
2 Taygeta

6 Celaeno
7 Electra
5 Asterope

BTW, I'm still thinking that horns' lenght could be related to System "wideness" aka number of bodies...

EDIT:
Perhaps visiting each of them in the order i've made, with an UA on board?
Just a test...

Wow I cant leave you all alone for 6 hours and you have started debate about a Galactic Power. How the hell did you guys pull that of in such a short period of time. Are one of you a secret Dev?

I thought you all would have saved the universe first before even contemplating taking it over. I am so out of my league here. I will go back to being a janitor then. I come cheap and will even work on Orca's if forced. :)

I always thought 'dark matter' was considered matter that did not reflect or produce light...not an unkown type of matter...just not visible.
