Ships A prayer for the Vulture!

This is my Vulture.
There are many others like it, but this one is mine.
My Vulture is my best friend.
It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my Vulture is useless.
Without my Vulture, I am useless.
I must fly my Vulture true.
I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me.
I must shoot him before he shoots me.
I will.
Before God I swear this creed:
my Vulture and myself are defenders of my galaxy, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.

Before you get into a 200 page religion discussion, please watch Full Metal Jacket and know your references :) It's actually the modified riflemen's creed, I've first seen it recited in that movie.

There you go.

Also, fun fact, Yahweh was the Canaanite god of war. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahweh So if you're into the whole murder and mayhem thing you've picked the right god.

Using a game forum to rail on people who believe in God is idiotic, as the only purpose it serves is dividing the people who, for the most part, have come together to share in something they enjoy. So in he end, you hurt all of us, because you literally destroy the that which brings us together, the game experience itself, and not others beliefs, that for some reason you detest.

You take it much too seriously.
And when push comes to shove he hasn't railed on anyone.
If showing a fun fact is the same as railing on people then just stating that the earth is 4.54 billion years old as opposed to 6000 years and that biological evolution is a fact might be considered railing too by some.

A fun fact? Did you actually visit his link?

Nothing about that link is fun, and would upset almost anyone of faith who clicks it, as IMO was its intention.

Fun is a point of view. I know plenty of religious people who would chuckle at that, and have already laughed at similar jokes, so let's not assume that what upsets you upsets everyone else who is also religious. It's called lightening up, not taking yourself and every single thing you see or hear too seriously, and realize it's a joke. You may find it a bad joke, as tastes differ, but there's no reason to go get insulted over it.

This entire thread is about a movie reference modified for a Vulture, and some of you seem intent on needlessly turning it into a religious discussion, which is almost always a bad idea on the internet. If you read the original post, it was obviously not intended as a serious thread. Why take it seriously, then?

I knew the webpage.
It displays pure facts.
Being an ex-christian myself I agree that people of faith might prefer to stay oblivious of them.
That was never my attitude, hence my current state of disbelief. Ignorance is bliss as they say.

I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with the original post, as I found it a humorous take on an the actual Rifleman's Creed that all US Marines recite in basic training. I do however take serious anyone who attacks the beliefs of others, like the comment "God kills people all the time, he's really good at it actually", followed by a link that does nothing but attack people of faith. Even after the initial dig on God, I joked about not seeing him on CNN, yet the attack's continued.

Sorry, but if I see anyone attack another group for their religious beliefs, sexuality or politics, I'm responding...

Facts? No.

I was a Christian, then a atheist, now I'm an agnostic. In over a 30 year military career, I've witnessed people of God (lose term) and the non-believer's do unspeakable acts of barbarism to others, but I've also seen people of faith give their own lives to save others (many times), and inspire greatness in those around them.

I will comment no more in this thread, but I do ask that posters please consider others feelings when commenting on matters that people may hold closely to their hearts.
