So, in this week's newsletter we got a peek of the Fed Corvette... With 2small, 2 medium, 1 large and
How do you think Fdev are going to balance this monster?
2 huge hard points!!

With maneuverability -1 and top speed 100 ms (boost 50 ms)Add another 2 medium and a large to it and it'll balance beautifully![]()
That's apparently not right according to the update on Facebook a few moments ago.
It now has 2xSmall, 2xMedium, 1xLarge, 2xHuge.
Wait and see if that's set in stone.

2xSmall, 2xMedium, 1xLarge, 2xHuge? So really it has 2xSmall, 2xMedium, 3xLarge.
Not sure I get ya. Initially they said (lies. Lies!!!!) :
2 Huge
3 Large
2 Medium
But later "corrected" that (bah, humbug!) to:
2 Huge
1 Large
2 Medium
2 Small
So they've replaced two Larges with two Smalls. In comparison with the Anaconda, which has:
1 Huge
3 Large
2 Medium
2 Small
I miss the old Corvette. Those were the good old.... errr.... minutes. We'll never see its like again...![]()
Well it's not going to have 10 maneuverability,Why does it need to be balanced? The galaxy is full of inequality and I see no reason why this should be an exception.
There is no fish so large that it cannot be ravaged by two or three vultures.
So is the question 'what will be this ship's shortcomings?'Well it's not going to have 10 maneuverability,
350 speed 400 boost, 600 armour and 2000 shields!

Sounds about right!Armour and shields sound realistic (well, 2000 shields when full of shield boosters), but I won't expect it to be very fast, probably between the Python and Anaconda.

That last part could be called balancing.I agree. I think over-obsession with balancing limits the game - it prevents a lot of interesting variety and asymmetric scenarios.
I think it'd be really cool if I was in a big furball in a RES, when suddenly a big Corvette jumps in and starts vaporising everything around it, and everyone scurries for cover.
As long as the number is somewhat limited (pricing, or rarity in shipyards) so everyone doesn't end up in one!
