Making Salomé (Sen. Kahina Tijani Loren) a New Power

I think what I'm trying to say is that for every player action the world needs to be able to react. At the current time the game world is rather passive. There should be consequences from the game world. Imagine if there was a concerted effort to flip sol to a dictatorship without player opposition. Would the Federal Congress not order the navy to step in and prevent this player led insurrection? Of course players should be able to influence the world, I just believe that the world would and most react to the attempt in in order to keep the world consistent and believable.

Speaking only for myself, I actually prefer it that Lady Kahina is not the leader of a power as I like to think that her character is above all the petty squabbling and skirmishing represented by the PowerPlay factions. Her goals and those of the Children of Raxxla are more important than the mere conquering of territory: the mysteries we are attempting to unravel could potentially hold the key to the fate of the entire galaxy, not just those who would pledge to our cause. We work thanklessly, unknown, for the benefit of all.

Having said that, I will do all in my power to further the goals of our esteemed leader and if she decides that we need to be a power to accomplish our task, then so be it.

This. Plus Powerplay sucks. (8 chars).

She was a nasty brat
I think she could have been worse. She could have begged for admission to a secret group, while completely skipping the admission trial on the basis of providing developer information, and then once admitted, completely avoid providing any information and lurk for a few months. That would be a rather nasty, brat-like thing to do.

She reacted appropriately and in what she believed was the best interest of her planet and her people. She also keeps an open mind and willingness to learn from those she trusts (like Luko). Frankly, I believe she makes a great leader. "Nasty brat" qualifies more for her sisters than she who was rejected by her own father on account of her hair color despite her superior intellect and skill with a sword.

If you're going to insult someone, least you can do is your homework. Otherwise, leave our leader alone.

I would go further to say that the point of the story was about her transformation from starting as that spoilt individual and growing / developing into what she is becoming.

given how huge the galaxy is, it would be great when one day we have 30 or even 100 more powers distributed all around the galaxy. This is a great thing for bigger clans to create their own place in E: D

Yes, a poor little rich girl, so unhappy in her life, because of prettier sisters, who was noticed to even take this angst out on her own servants and didn't notice the sufferings caused by her families management of Chione.
who would have died without her own Cinderella like fairy god Mentor, who took a shining to her for his own machinations.
An interesting and well written charter but I don't see the "Great Leader" in her, as she is an absentee leader.

Plus I kinda feel like the Reclaimists have the better claim to Prism, having settled it and the way the House of Loren resolved the matter.

But anyway, good luck none the less.

There are a few player groups who have already found and contacted us asking how they can help, many players who have pledged their allegiance to our cause and a faction willing to do their best to fight the good fight at the Prism system as representatives of Admiral Brice's and Ambassador Cuthrick Delaney's sphere of influence over the system.

Just to throw in a quick advert for said faction fighting the good fight under the Admiral and the Ambassador:

Back on topic like nothing happened...

Indeed Commander Vasious.

Kahina was a spoilt brat. That was precisely how I intended her to come across as my story opened. She was completely insulated within her aristocratic world and utterly self-absorbed in her own troubles. The shock of having her privilege stripped away, being forced to rely first on her own resources and then finding that she could not survive without the assistance of others, combined with the horror of seeing the death and destruction that her naive decisions resulted in...

...all that changes a person. She is not the young woman she was.

Would you follow a leader who has never made a mistake in their life? I wouldn't. Of course she is flawed, that's the point. She has a backstory which will make people think about her motives, that's the point. She is both ambiguous, divisive and enchanting. That's the point. :)

I sincerely hope the fans and players are able to elevate her to a 'Power'. That will be a lot more meaningful than the current 'Powers' who have no backstory, or even a mandate for their actions. Kahina would be elevated because players care, not for Prismatic Shields or extra powerful Nerf guns, but for an ideal, a story and a cause.

And ultimately, a reason to play the game.

Cheers,

Drew.

Our members couldn't agree more. The attachment any of us feel to the various powers (whether a cute Khaleesi look-alike, anarchist or war mongerer ) is minimal, because there is no back story to any of them or the amount of story that is there pales in comparison to the amount in official Elite Lore. I feel much more attachment fighting for Kahina or on the Fed side maybe John Harper's Robert Garry / Gunn or maybe an Independent Kate Russel's Dread Pirate Katherine. I apologize if I butchered the spelling on any of these (I listened to the audio books).
