Who remembers the original elite.

Commodore 64/128 here, I do remember seeing it over at someone's house on the NES.

I still remember the day I bought it at a "catalog store" either Dolgin's or Best (the former became the latter)...the starkly plain glossy black box with the golden logo. I think it was the first game I bought for my C128.

Played a bit of the first sequel, but my computer was crap and I never did get into it.

Well I'm a youngish.... 48 die hard gamer " wife rolls her eyes"

Saw it on a friend's BBC and then got it for my ZX Spectrum. Used to play in shifts at weekends with 2 friends, taking it in turns on joystick and keyboard (joystick guy steers and shoots, keyboard guy on thrusters and missiles). Later moved onto Amiga 500 and briefly on PC. Played Frontier on PC briefly but never got into it.

Never made Elite on any of them!

43 by the way.

I used to play at work, at lunchtimes, on a BBC Model B using a 5 1/4 inch floppy drive.

I also used to have Elite and Frontier for my Atari ST at home.

I also used to play Federation of Free Traders on the ST but didn't like it anywhere near as much as Elite.
