UA Mystery Thread 3: The Canonn

Well we have a word doc running to 4 pages of Myth legend and possibility's.
We are exploring along the lines of "Merope as a clue" rather than a solution
As in the UA is pointing and saying "Hey that's your next clue go figure out if you can" type thing

Back in 1.3 I did not get any signal sources in the Californian Nebula
I followed the chain of Blue stars out to it and the frequency of *SS dropped off (will look up name of last system with *SS in tomorrow)
So the first sign will be *SS appearing in the Nebula proper

The people I thought were grabbing the medical research haven't done it yet, and aren't going to any time soon. So this is a call-out to anyone who wants a good smash and grab mission to get that research. If you want to do that, send me a PM. This will probably happen between 6PM-11PM EST (I forget what game time is, sorry.)

• Strong signal sources within Pleiades(?) have a 'Medical Convoy' within them.
• On arrival they say something on the lines of "Cargo secured".
• Ships: 1 Python, 4 Vultures.
• The python is carrying the research.

This evening I plan to take my UA to Earth.

The idea is that there is an Earth orbit connection (even Palin has an 'Around the world' connection ).

Has a similar 'end point' in the pacific, just south of the equator. I want to do a drop there.

I also want to drop within 1000m of the cap ship in Earth orbit. I hope I can avoid scanning at the 3km range (I will save this for last as I will probably die).

Close to Earth WSS are also on my list.

That's all. Far fetched, but we all have to try something.

Well this makes me think its just a unique looty loot to steal and sell, albeit not worth much. But that's not how science thinks. What if the research from Pleiades is different? Will UAs react differently to it and/or the cryopods? I'd expect a normal medical convoy to be uninteresting. Taking some bodies from one station to the next. But one outside of the occupied bubble is suspicious. Especially since they are securing cargo where the highest appearance of UAs are.

How far is California sector from Sol?

We've talked about it yesterday, remember? I suggested California Nebula as it lays outside the line from Sol to Merope.
I also told you that it is around 1000Ly from Sol.

BTW people already been there, and found no spawning SSs.

I second the proposal to drop more than one UA around Merope, even if I remember someone doing it in beta, with something like 8 UAs (!!!).
I'll do it myself next evening (CEST).

After being reminded that the AA transmits audio from the lunar landings, I for one am quite keen to examine everything that gets introduced, then put it in storage just in case.

May I throw another crazy theory here? The UAs were first discovered in convoys right? (Only Federal ones?) They are from semi-extraterrestrial origin given the fact they also emit morse and are apparently able to give a visual representation of our ship. Now, I've been thinking about other events involving ships and non-celestial bodies, like stations or super massive ships...Yeah, I'm talking about Starship One.

What if (again this damn "what if" haha) the UA was created by the Federation using Thargoid technology mixed with their own in order to find SS1 and find out who did that? Of course, that would be a pretty complex plan to retrieve a wreckage, unless it has to do with another corporation with a big influence and they need to do it in secret. Everybody thinks it's Thargoid so they can continue on their search without anybody knowing. Except Palin was about to discover it, that's why they shut down his project.

Anyway, I've just made myself another tinfoil hat (named it Solid Tin) and thought I'd use it a little bit.
