Would you buy Elite Ship Revell Model Kits?

Only if it's Revell of Germany. They do good stuff...usually. Now Finemolds or Tamiya would be good option.

Yea...forgot about Tamiya, they make great stuff. :) Frankly though I'd just love it if anyone would make a model of the different ships. I hope someone forwards this suggestion to Braben so he could think about it. I know I would buy models of the ships.

Think this has been mentioned before, way back in PB and earlier. A resounding yes, definitely would buy one! Imagine a 1:72 Cobra MkIII alongside a same scale Spitfire or F-14 Tomcat. Pretty awesome.

Definitely have to have a few...

Perhaps by Möbius/Polar Lights, they do some decent work.
1/32 Scale would be Lovely, but would get expensive in the larger ships...
So maybe 1/48 Scale instead...

The model is around 9" across and scales about 1:200 so even 1:144 would be decent sized model or you could build a metal one

Yes.

I think the Japanese companies (Tamiya, Kotobukiya) are generally more expensive but higher quality (fit better, less flaws), but I would be happy with any Injection Plastic kit. I'd be happy with Resin or metal models too.

Actually, Kotobukiya have made plastic kits of ships/fighters from scifi games (e.g. Ikaruga, Gradius) so I think would do a good job. Bandai would too, but they tend to stick to their own IP and TV stuff, not really doing game.

Kotobukiya Ikaruga ship example, for the detail you get:

Frontier being a British company the one that makes the most sense would probably be Airfix, they've got the brand recognition over here and would presumably be an easier supplier to work with as no language barriers.

You're not going to get any of the bigger companies making the kits for something as low demand as Elite, you MIGHT get a smaller company that release limited numbers of resin kits to cooperate and help out but i doubt it (and those kits require a lot more finishing work than a standard model kit does in case you've never built one).

What is much easier to arrange though is a release of the 3D models which can then be 3D printed, requires little to no investment from FD or a partner company and gives customers the option to print at home if they own a 3D printer or use one of the specialist companies that let you email the files in and then print and send the finished item to you.

The only such model I ever made was the APC from Aliens ... but yes, if there were such kits to buy, I'd snap up a few and make them.

1:144 scale would be good. The smallest ships wouldn't be too small (Sidewinder ~ 14 cm), and big ones would still be big (above example Python still 60 cm long).
