Imperial Eagle Paint?

Has there been any news about whether or not we'll get some paint schemes for the iEagle? White just isn't my color. :p I noticed that the Clipper eventually got some, but not the Courier.

I have recently noticed that these pure colour skins can actually have some z buffering issues like this:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bb/Z_buffer-Z_fighting.png
(need to get a screenshot of it in game)
So you can see the original ship colour rip through the skin.
That might mean the skin is actually a model for these, which could explain the jaggy edges too.

If you can give it a go, try to do and compare screenshots of this skin at different model details.

To pick up on this, it's visible on the bottom edges/corners of the Vulture:

Debug cam cannot really get close up on this - but moving around makes it clear the colour is a separate layer.
I couldn't find any quality setting to change the model resolution.
Can anyone confirm this for other paintjobs?

Please fix paint..

.. or rather don't fix the paint.
I loved my scruffy Python with 0% on paint, but since 1.4 the paint gets fixed every time I repair ship integrity :(

Repairing ship integrity and hull should reduce the paint and not result in a forced paint repair to 100%.
Fixing parts of the hull and internal structural elements of the ship should have a negative effect on the paint job of the ship. Patches with wrong or slightly off color where armor plates got replaced. Newer paint or slightly off color paint where parts of the hull got removed to reach internal parts of the ship structure.

I don't like ships that look like new after repairs unless the paint got repaired and I don't like ships that come out of the factory with scratches and paint chipping off. Repairing paint should make a ship shiny and new looking. Not repairing the paint should turn the ship into something that looks used and beaten up.

Then don't click integrity until the they fix it. My Combat/smuggler Python's running fine at 0% integrity, it only results in a 30% loss of hull strength, a non issue in a properly shielded Python

YES!

I want my ships to be like my woolly pullover - well-worn but perfectly functional :)

Oh and they should sort that 10% Repair nonsense out too, while they're at it.

Do you mean battle scorch marks?

No, I mean looking like you've been through a sand-blaster after flying in an asteroid belt for 6 hours as it should.

When I ride my ship hard and put it up wet, it should look like it. :p

Would be that easy if you knew before you clicked..
First integrity repair after 1.4 took it from 0% to 100%..
.. takes a while to get it back to 0%.

Hehe, well my Python looks like that a 0% paint, it's at 36% and the white paint is badly peeled off. Am pretty sure the Viper and certain other ships are known to be bugged.

I thought we all knew about the bug, people have been shouting about it since the actual 1.4 beta. Devs said it will be fixed. Take it to hutton, it will get you back down to 0% ;)

Screenshot? I thought all ships were bugged. I've got a Python at 70% and I can't find a damaged pixel on it. I've got an Asp at 0% and it looks just mildly neglected. Around where 80%ish would have been before damage stopped working.

Give me a sec..

Correction this is at 41%, by the time it hits 0% it looks really beaten up.

DK2 pics unfortunately..

Edit - ummm that really didn't come out well :/ I'll disable the rift and take another shot

Here's a better one I found online without the DK2

Take your time being awesome. Last I saw Pythons were just as screwed up as the rest of them, I could use a shining ray of hope that FD is kinda half-arsedly getting this fixed.

Lets hope that patch 1.5 "ships" fixes this. I really want to see spaceships that look like they've been used and seen trouble. Maybe even make repairing paint much more expensive so that rich players can show their wealth. Turning paint into a way to show the attitude of the CMDR. Something to make ships different and not look exactly the same as every other ship.
