Would you buy Elite Ship Revell Model Kits?

YES to model kits but I'd like to see the better makers doing them.
Tamiya, Hasegawa, Kotobukiya

Decent scale sizes as well

Revell? No.

Tamiya? SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!

Until then, I'll just have to keep using my 3D printer. :)

I have been wanting this since I first heard that Frontier was going to make Elite: Dangerous - the ability to buy a nice model kit from the model maker Revell. Is there any chance that David could make a deal with Revell to have ship models produced by Revell that we could by from the game store? Would you buy one?

Oh yes! Great idea Khavi!

On second thought I think Bandai would be an Outstanding choice...
The tooling on their recent kits is Awesome.
They do quite a bit of Molding In Color Parts.
Their Space Battleship Yamato series, among others, is Top Notch.
Their current kits build up Very Nice, no muss no fuss.
And they just released some updated Star Warz kits, New Tooling.
They also do some fairly Obscure subjects...

Another good choice might be "Fine Molds"...

Edit:
Just a VERY Limited initial search on Shapeways turns up some Elite and (ED) items...
I'm betting more could be found by refining the search...

If you don't mind me asking, which Printer do you have? And what material is that? Been thinking about investing in one. I've used Shapeways so much that it may be more practical to buy my own! :)

I am buying my Wife a Lego big wheel for Christmas, I normally get a large Lego corner property they are limited in time (only available for one year), so are investments really and normally take a few days to build.

If there was an Elite Ship building kit that would be great, it would need be to be an advanced kit with a lot of detail.

Has to be the Cobra to start with.

If enough people sign up we must be able to make this happen?

Based on the feedback in this thread, it's obvious that there would be some demand for this kind of thing. I would love to be able to buy them myself, either in kit form, die cast or possible even something from a 3D Printing setup. Are there templates available for people to print out their own ships on a 3D Printer and look decent? The Cobra looks nice that was shown earlier in this thread, but I'd love to see an Anaconda, Python and Clipper if someone has done one of them.

What a great idea!
i haven't done a model like this in probably over 30 years, but if they came out with some elite ship models, I most certainly would get some!

I don't care who makes them. JUST MAKE THEM.

Hell, create a 3D printing version with PDFs of the instruction and a box we can print off as well so we can get them made ourselves ;)

I know the logistics of doing this require a bit more work than creating faction mugs or key chains. But this still seems like a no brainer for creating another revenue stream for them.
heck, they wouldn't have to stop with ships either. Starport models anyone? ;)

I'm kinda surprised that Sandro hasn't stopped by this thread with a "great idea... we'll see" response.

Airfix please (British still, as far as I'm aware..), as long as they select a scale for them all so that they can be displayed alongside each other..
