Yup Susimetsa is right - you just need to tap tap tap the roll button to roll it a little, let go, roll a bit more, let go etc etc and you can stay aligned with the docking port.
If you play Euro Truck Simulator 2 and use the keyboard for driving you'd know - you tap tap tap the left and right steering to negotiate gentle curves on the road

saw your last post then this one, glad you felt better bud.As an Alpha backer i have no problem with the public get a first taster before us, it was only one day and hopefully good publicity for ED....and we wouldn't have had a sneak preview from the pics and vids that came after, great teaser and agree with you excited that 3.0 could be with us today or soon.
As for the video, amazing! so much to play about with i wont know where to start!
One thing i really liked was DB giving the guy in the vid a tutorial throughout(although the guy seemed to find it quite natural and was very good)
it would be quite nice for some i suspect if there were some basic tutorials showing how to use side panels for instance and fire assignments etc, nicer still if it was DB voicing them!

it will be interesting to see how well the docking screens and outfitting work with Oculus Rift, somehow I doubt those dialogues will be readable on the dev kit but that's no real issue.
I don't mind the external view in the station but I'm sure its a stepping stone to being able to walk to the outside in first person a bit further down the line.

Very impressive video and looks no problem with keyboard control to dock. I can foresee that using OR and voice commands to enable functions like requesting docking and lowering/raising landing gear, may be something worth configuring, or using the numeral keypad on the right as additional function keys for those functions, without having to view left/right.
Velocity / vector indicators. There should be some on the sides and top too, they help you judge where your ship is actually heading (less useful when in front of a stonking big station, ofc, but more useful when in empty-space).

Argh! your right, i was listening in bed this morning on my tablet and its not the greatest sound, just listened again on the computer and noticed straight away.....this is my defense, it wont help me of course and am doomed i know....how

Everything looks perfect to me.
Especially the 3rd person ship view to see what you can upgrade and where on the ship's hotspots.

Wow! Docking looks much more easy than I ever imagined. This totally blew me away! Can't wait to do this again and again in my own Cobra!
