CQC CQC Dead? 1.5 hr wait lol!

Most dont like CQC and it is and was a mistake to put an elite marker in game .
CQC should be removed from the game completly

Just because you do not like CQC does not mean that others do not get enjoyment out of it. No way are FD going to remove it after the effort they have put into making it. They might change things to make it more appealing, that is to be hoped and expected, but not remove.

Keep in mind, just because you do not like something, doesn't mean others do not.

They just need to make CQC free to play and put it on steam. It would attract a huge influx of Open players to the main game and a steady stream of CQC fuel.

That is a great suggestion. They would probably need to sell hats as well, but i think we can live with that.

Pretty much as the thread says in the title, but seriously 1.5 hr wait for a team deathmatch?

How do these devs expect us to reach a prestige lvl of 9, when nobody queues anymore, let alone get our pilots federation rank for CQC to Elite.

This game must have a really small population lol

I played it quite a bit for a few days after it came out. It was fun but it got old quickly.

I'd love to try it, but everytime i go to i wait in queue for at least 5 minutes then give up... Seriously? What a waste of development time.

He is being awkward.

That's... actually quite smart. Plus make decals and whatnots for purchase (it would be F2P, so cosmetics such as this would be fine). Optionally give people who have purchased the full ED some too to avoid any outrage at this fact? (But than again, we already need to buy skins extra, so perhaps this is overdoing it...)

EDIT: DO bear in mind that IF the atrocious queue times are due to low population, then releasing CQC on Steam is just delaying the inevitable. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this would attract more people but I doubt it would somehow turn into a huge hit which could sustain the mode.

EDIT 2: Oh, and add a randomize teams at the end of games, or something...

Was just about to ask this very same question lmao.
Earlier today I was able to drop in matches within 10-15 seconds. Now i've been sitting waiting for nearly an hour.

Hi

Prospective first time CQC player. Have 30 minutes before bed, thought i'd just try it....but how long do i have to wait to get a match. I've tried all 3 modes but its just endless "searching for match..."

Too bad, would love to play, but this is painful!

Hi

For full disclosure...i did persist with the waiting game, and eventually joined a deathmatch - my first CQC. Was excellent fun! Well done FD!

World of Tanks just had a major update with a new game mode (Rampage) that is basically single player deathmatch. Not to mention that Battlefront is out today.

Elite is fine as a space exploration/trading/bounty hunting space opera type game, but as a competitive P2P type game it is simply a cookie cutter shooter. There are better options out there if that is your thing, and many of them are free. The decline of CQC was pretty inevitable once the novelty wore off among hardcore Eliters.

100% true!
matchmaking takes ages, but please don't forget about our short lives...

CQC was never going to be a big hit. Elite players are the wrong type of audience for that kind of thing.

Also the game is still often unplayably laggy and buggy when you have a bunch of players in a session. Not great for fast paced arena gameplay.

The audience isn't the problem. Cqc is the problem. The matchmaking is bad, the ranking system is not based on skills, and the whole game experience has been simplified to death by removing fixed weapons and limiting the customizing options.

That's the point of an arena game. However it has a higher skill cap than open. You have to remember that the Condor is almost 1/4 the size of a Sidewinder. Throwing in have maneuverable and how much terrain there is compared to 99% of open pvp(no terrain) that actually hitting with dead on fixed weapons would be pretty rare even for very good pilots. Throw in the fact that unlike open pips to systems actually make shields come up faster and you have a recipe for soccer score matches. Having the weapons gimbal around how fixed weapons do at long range in open was vital for making the game interesting. With out pumping up the lethality of the weapons even less people would bother.

I agree with an earlier post. They should seperate it from the main game and offer it up for free on Steam. I really can't see it being any less dead once it goes live. Those who want to play it most likely already are.

I play War Thunder for these kinds of games, CQC had no business in ED except as a 'see, we have that too' to RSI's Arena Commander. If you want good matchmaking you should choose a good matchmaking game and encourage FD to work on their core game ( which still lacks, imo) because I dont know ANYONE who backed this for a matchmaking experience, not even once.
