Still not griefing.
use google and look up what it mean please.
Still not griefing.
Thinking ahead is considered a good thing by some.
Something FD clearly hadn't done in what was their first venture into open world multiplayer gaming....and it showed
It hit 'em in the butt hard when the first station gankers exposed the loopholes.
You feel making the same mistakes twice is the proper approach ?
Of course we need to see Horizons first to know exactly what can and can't be done, no arguing there.
I'm just saying it's just as legitimate to speculate over that as it is with all the other things that get speculated about.
Still not griefing.
Missiles into stations. Missiles nerfed.
Cargo drops near stations. Drops nerfed.
etc.
In other words, be careful what you wish for. You might just get it![]()
Don't you just hate it when you post a joke comment and someone takes it seriously?
However, since we are being serious, just keep in mind what we already know. Bases have defenses. Anyone sitting above a base shooting at people will receive the same warm welcome from the base that someone sat outside a station gets when they start firing on someone in the no fire zone.
From what we understand so far, base defenses are going to be pretty nasty against ships if the footage of outpost attacks were any indication. That's part of the point of the SRV. You get into the SRV to take out outposts because attacking an outpost/base is probably very very dangerous.
So, since we are speculating, i'd guess, while some griefing is possible, and someone will always find a way to do it, i feel like OP has jumped to conclusions that are probably not valid.
Having said that, based on your comments, just keep in mind, every time FD have made a change to clamp down on some form of griefing, its caused more widespread upset among players than the initial problem caused.

For sensible people, who just want to play and enjoy their game without being picked on by the small amount of people who get their fun from griefing, there's Mobius.
For everyone else, there's Open.
I tell you if I had a pound for every time I've seen people cry griefer wolf on these forums I'd be a very rich man..
For every person who automatically jumps to the term 'griefing' for any and all negative player interaction, there is someone who goes to the other extreme and insists that there is no possible thing as 'griefing' and that if a loophole can be exploited to annoy other players, it's fair game.
...and for each of those there seems to be 10 or so people who start ranting 'Not another griefer thread!' without reading and providing a useful comment.

the griefing will be cmdr hover over station and kill others when they cant fight back. they have low iq becourse they destroy the game for other trow a exploit. same as we had in station before. I are realy bad in english, but what i wrote in the post are rather clear. Do you understand or do I have to write a picture for you?
fwiw, latest video shows "no fire zone" message on approach to outpost on planet..
No doubt certain people will find ways to destroy the fun for others.
For some that is what being human is all about it seems.
Hey, guys...hey guys....HEY GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did none of you read this post by Sugarat? No Fire Zone was clear on the last vid from David on Europa, planetary starports have the same mechanisms as orbital stations do, so this ain't a concern around them.
And yes, it was a valid concern, since FD already screwed that one up before, multiple times no less. And ANYONE who denies we have griefers in this game, odds are, you ARE the griefer someone has run across. Just because the game mechanics do NOT stop certain actions doesn't make them allowed. Funny how griefers ALWAYS use that argument 'the game doesn't stop me, so it's allowed!' to defend their actions. That's been happening since the days of Quake, people spawn camping and claiming it was part of the game and allowed because the game didn't stop it. Until Mr Carmack, who designed the game, made clear his view on that, in words I can't use on these forums. That's been repeated many times over the past 2 decades too, griefers claiming that their actions were allowed because the game didn't prevent them, and developers stating in no uncertain terms exactly how wrong the griefers were. We already know what David thinks of such people, he's been pretty clear on that, but we also know that Elite games have ALWAYS had an extremely over zealous and extremely powerful law enforcement powers that took care of anyone doing wrong..in a single player game! We have the basic bones of that law enforcement power in Elite Dangerous currently, they don't have the power to really be effective...yet. BGS ain't up and running properly, law and order system is definitely not up and running properly because you can sit just outside the No Fire Zone at Gorbachev station and kill system authority vessels FROM that station all day long and STILL dock at that station for repairs and rearming.
Go on CMDR Mini, Cosmos, tell me that THAT is working as intended and that means there's no way you can grief in this game. I'm sure both of you, and others, will say just that, but you know it's a lie, that's not how it's supposed to work, but the systems aren't in place yet for it to work properly.
Funny how the people who scream loud and longly about there being NO griefing possible in this game also scream loud and longly against increasing the power of the system authorities...
