You have this problem on the level you describe, then you respectively should hang up you capt goat and help out in the house
ps... you need a high degree of strategical skill to play ED and satisfy you family at the same time

My wife is not into video games apart from the one game that is Katamari Damacy. Shes ok with me playing games as she knows i been playing them since i was a very small boy around 1979/80. I always say, "I drink rarely, i dont smoke, i dont gamble and i dont do drugs. I keep myself fit and strong so playing a few video games here is no problem"...suddenly the wife goes quiet once she thinks about what i just said

unfortunately for me I'm not fit, and even though I do no drugs i'm not against doing them lol (I'm not into drugs that are legal, so drugs I want to do I can't because I'm not willing to break the law.) video games is all I do, so getting hitched with someone who is not into video games as much as me would be a utter disaster, because they would get tired of me doing nothing but video games.
Though currently I'm unemployed and dependent so I can afford to be a lazy **** lol.

You cannot play Elite dangerous with deadly people around like the wife or missus.

Can I add here that it is not just wives that are a distraction. I have a new ships cat, only a couple of months old, and I was going toe to toe with a pirate Anaconda when she decided that she would run up my back, jump on the table from my shoulder and attack the joystick and the hand that was holding it. At that stage the battle took a turn for the worse and while I did get away it was only just. I have decided that when she is around I will limit myself to exploring and trading. I can do those one handed. Culprit photo attached.
Have you tried setting your wife up with her own ship? You could try just sending her out to space too.
I find getting out of the water to be fairly immersion breaking.
I find illogical and contrived components of Elite: Dangerous to be a bit willing-suspension-of-disbelief breaking. But hey, it has to be a viable enough game to enough of the masses. It's still a great game overall. It has loads more of the good than bad.
