How is anyone downloading the new beta? where do you download it from, there's nothing more in "my downloadable products" What the hell? Waited all night to download the thing and still nothing.

I'm well past the point of wishing I had never wasted the money.

Michael Brookes has posted in the release notest thread that they are looking into several issues with some players not getting the 2.0 beta when they should, some players getting an error message trying to install, and some players appearing to get 2.0 access even when they only see 1.5 64 bit and log into that one, or vice versa. FD are aware of all these issues and are working through them.

Please keep in mind this is a beta test and these kind of things happen - we have seen this before and FD will sort it out as soon as they can. Once you see indications that they have resolved the known issues affecting large numbers of players, that's when you should raise a ticket if you still cannot get in.

Hmmm, something is very wrong, kept getting same error message about server refused, installed 1.5 64 bit and hey presto Horizons was there now too. Every time I try to launch via the launch button, it dims for a few seconds then goes back to the normal colour and nothing else happens. 'Uninstalling' the Horizons beta (that I didn't actually install) now to try again. Boy am I confused.

Oculus DK2 failed with pilot positioning (twice closer to panel than in normal position) and head orientation (F12 unavailable in beta 2.0).

Is someone going to create a Horizons Known Issues thread? that is a good way of seeing the main problems and knowing you aren't, or in some cases unfortunately are, alone with the problems you encounter?

am I missing something?.. Nothing shows up in my downloadable content area... I see my order for Horizon beta though.

Just saw the other post about it.. The ol'Beta reasoning.. The beta environment is supposed to encompass the games content, not the website/launchers capability to mix things up/have issues. The launcher I can understand to a degree since its new and tied with the game of course. Although, the website certainly isnt new or being beta tested unless im mistaken. If the store started charging double you wouldnt auto blame beta, unless the load on game servers is affecting the store in some way to cause it.

Normally im one of the firsts one to say its a beta, these things happen but it's a tad silly to default to that for everything happening. Of course all is imo.

Welp! 30 Nov is FINALLY here, and I STILL don't have the Horizons Beta available in "My Downloadable Products".

I paid, waited, 24 Nov came...had to wait some more... 30 Nov came... still waiting

What the heck?? anybody able to download it yet or has it even shown in your :My Downloadable Products" yet? Only thing I got is "Elite: Dangerous Rating" which sends me to this Pegi site..??

Here's how you get the Beta when you use Steam:
AS A STEAM USER, ALL I DID WAS LOG OUT OF STEAM AND CLOSED IT COMPLETELY DOWN, THEN I WENT TO MY ELITE DANGEROUS FOLDER (LOCATED C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Elite Dangerous) AND LAUNCHED THE ELITE LAUNCHER BY DOUBLE CLICKING IT THERE. THE LAUNCHER OPENED AND THE HORIZONS BETA WAS THERE, READY TO DOWNLOAD & INSTALL.
I DID NOT NEED THE FRONTIER STORES "MY DOWNLOADABLE PRODUCTS" PAGE AT ALL.

What's the point of the My Downloadable Products section then?? I thought it might be for stuff you bought in the Frontier shop, except I bought a Skin Pack and it was available straight away in the game with no downloading from the site.

Oh well, not to worry, I'm happy as I've now got the beta downloading............

Its bugged for some atm, like 2 pages back one of the mod's was talking about it. Basically, they're working on it.

just ran it.. ive lost all my money, ships and viper upgrades...also to targeting system and it fails to recorgnize my keyboard except esc key ??????

The launcher suddenly hard locked, after restarting everything was fine. I think you were right about the name mix ups because it started at 62% which was what my 1.5 64 bit download was at when the launcher locked. Hope that's everyone sorted now. Thanks team for your midnight oil

Hello All fellow CMDRS.
I apologize if this has been answered already but I purchased the Beta of Horizons yet I do not see it in my downloads section of the frontierstore.com site . Is there any other place where I can download the beta? I bought Elite through Steam so i know I cant get it through steam. Just wondering whats going on? Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated.

Never mind I read the above comment about launching from the actual game exe file itself. However when i click install beta it crashes the launcher and just stays frozen. This is bit annoying. Any ideas or should I just let it run alone until it decides to work by itself.

LOL I keep changing this its now finally downloading.

Now I'm extra confused,

Within the game I don't see any planets with the blue half-circle icon to suggest they are landable. I launched Ships 1.5 64bit and noticed the SRV and entry module are purchasable. Yet the game crashes when I get close to a planet. I then tried Ships 1.5 32bit and I get close to the planet but then I fall out of orbital cruise. This is when I approached mercury (apparently this is one of the landable planets). Im wondering if the version I am running is the Horizons beta? as the HUD changes to standard flight mode with altimeter etc but I cant enter the planet, mega confused.

So then I try within the launcher to run Horizons Beta (which previously didn't even install yet it has a PLAY icon). It runs to my surprise.. but I cant even launch an open or solo game, .. moments after choosing either one, the game crashes.

I am completely confused now... any ideas?

That should solve your issue. It took me 1 hour to download and sync, now I'm off to go looking for planets.... bye!!!
