Not sure about space, doesn't seem any different to me. Maybe they improved the lighting a bit.
Planets are very ram hungry though, I can see why they switched to 64bit. Looks like it's using around 6gb while idling at a surface outpost![]()
My framerates have lowered by 60/70%. To the point that it's not fun to play anymore. No changes in graphical settings. I even tried lowering them.
At this moment, when almost approaching a planets surface, the whole screen fills up with lowres artifacts and other trippy stuff.
No clue what's wrong.
Yeah, it was on 0. So I set it to the max. Which didn't do much for the framerate, it stayed about the same 20-30. The terrain still isn't loading in properly, even though I've tried setting it to high just to see what happens.Have you played with the terrain work slider at all, that did wonders for me. I ended up having to drop one of the settings from Ultra to medium and the rest to high, I'm not on a super high end system though, but that took the frames from a headache in the low 20's fps back to a buttery smooth (for my eyes) 60fps.
On my machine, it's terrain quality on "ultra" that destroys framerate. I used to get 60 fps with everything on ultra and 1.5 supersampling. Turning off supersampling and lowering terrain quality to "high" gets me an acceptable 60 in space and 30-40 on planets. None of the other settings have such a massive impact.
Update:
It was the SLI issue. I used nVidia Inspector to add in the 64bit exe and now it's right back to sooper dooper high FPS!
Very happy.
Instructions on what you did please ??
