Predicting how the different powers will react when the Thargoids arrive

Just to have some fun, I decided to make some predictions about how the Powers would react to the arrival of the Thargoids. Feel free to add your own!

Zachary Hudson: "Kill the Alien Invaders! And the Imperial Slavers! Exterminate the Imperial Alien slaver invaders!!"

Felicia Winters: Welcome them into the great Federation and put them at work in charities.

Arissa Lavigny-Duval: "Bow down before me, Alien subjects, and bask in my glory!"

Aisling Duval: "Send them Pamphlets! Pamphlets always work!"

Denton Patreus: Send in the warships and force them into Imperial Slavery.

Zemina Torval: "Find out how much they'll pay for slaves."

Edmund Mahon: "Secure Trade agreements and make sure we stay on their good side."

Li Yong Rui: "Reverse-engineer their technology to use it ourselves, then sell it with a 15 percent discount For those who buy it directly from SiriusGov!"

Pranav Antal:"Peace and Utopia shall bond us to our Alien friends! Blblblblblblbl Aah!"

Archon Delaine:"Shoot first, steal their Alien cargo after."

Considering Merope is the likely place for them to first appear I think all powers will sit back and fortify their defences whilst the commanders of the pilots federation bear the brunt of the attack defending Obsidian Orbital in Maia.

So Thargoids are powerful,
their ships can do things our ships can´t do,
thaff, silent/cold running doesn´t effect them,
They hunt you a cross the galaxy to kill you and steal your cargo,
you can run but not hide. They will always know where you are,
Thargoids will make you crazy

and in corner of your eye where ever you go you see the message "you are hard one to find...."

To me NPCs meet all the rumors i have heard about Thargoids.

SO THARGOIDS ARE ALREADY HERE!!!!!!!!

probly :):):):) themselves in one form or another. one will give majer trade bonuses for us bringing their goods, the other will give major bonuses for those that scout their planets, then the more warlike leaders will offer bountys for each ship destroyed.

i do hope they are op but have draw backs "glass cannon one shot one kill even if the beam barly touches you but its on a fixed mount." sort of thing

also be nice if mines and missles were one hit kills on them but they swarm.

also be nice if we could pirate their ship themselves as in we shoot out its engine/power plant expel the pilot upload a virus and have it fallow us to a station to do what we will and pirating one is the only way to get it.

Thargoids? Nothing my apex Anaconda won't be able to handle (once I have enough money for it, that is...). Their name alone makes them hard to take seriously. I mean, "Thargoids"?

The smartest move will be - just be nice to them.
I refuse to fight the Thargoids. I want to learn everything about them.
And maybe, my Waifu will be a Thargoid, who knows?

Why are we all so sure the first alien species we meet will be Thargoids?

That large barnacles seem more likely to make an appearance first (the commodities market description hints at sentience, imo, and gives them just cause to be somewhat unfriendly towards us as we have been killing them and slicing their shells up for our own purposes.)

There are several extensive permit regions around the galaxy as well.

FD only get to introduce the Thargoids once. They have to do it right, and I don't think it will be so soon into the game game.

Im just gonna post this here since it is relevant as the OP did research of actual Lore. This info will help clear up most assumptions and surely please the ones with overactive monstergirl fanta-sea's. The ground work (lore) is already layed, now i wait to see if its implemented how it is written... if they treat it like the DDF, expect stereo typical insectoid war mongers that spew green blood and operate via hive mind.

Considering the Thargoids are way more technically advanced than us, they will be able to subdue us without much difficultly should that be what they wish to do. FD will have something rather more sophisticated up their collective sleeves than the old 'alien killing machines go on rampage' trope.

With regards to Powerplay. The skirmishing and waste of resources going on under the crazed leadership of these various fanatics will have to come to a head... someone will emerge, or perhaps leaders of the three main factions will appear - they will have to lead for humanity.

Keep watching for subtle clues.

When Thargoids do arrive lets hope the can cope with them in a realistic manner and its a full scale invasion with all of humanity threatened.

I'm guessing the first significant action of the inevitable Thargoid war will be the destruction of a station, which. Far as I know has not occurred yet in ED. I'm guessing too that all the ships then docked in said station will be destroyed and I'm wondering... Has anyone checked the exclusions on their insurance policies...? #unsettling ;-)
