By feigning weakness within The Canonn, and simultaneously bolstering support for VIU (getting to roughly equal influence), The Cannon can lure VIU into believing they can begin an armed insurrection (civil war) with the aim of taking control of the system. What the naïve fools of VIU don't realise is that once they have made the mistake of becoming the aggressors, The Canonn security forces (Cmdrs) will have the justification they need to ruthlessly suppress them (in Combat Zones, etc.). Ultimately leading to The Canonn seizing control of VIU's station, purely for security/peace-keeping purposes you understand, and installing their own government.

All very Machiavellian :)

Unfortunately I may have spoke too soon regarding bb missions, they seem to be cut right down in Varati again :( posting some screenshots to my bug report. Hopefully be able to assist in flipping again soon. Till then I guess it's back to the wreckage grind

Hello everyone. I'm Iridium Nova, as you may have guessed. I used to be a pirate, a smuggler, a bounty hunter, a trader, and an explorer. These days I prefer to consider myself an adventurer, and try to avoid illegal activities since I never really wanted to get into a life of crime anyway (sometimes you don't have a choice). I wander the galaxy looking for interesting things, and money, mainly. Gotta keep flying, after all. In the course of my latest adventure, I picked up a mission to find some Meta Alloys, not really knowing what they were. I'm pretty good at finding just about anything, so I didn't really think much about the mission when I took it, figuring I'd find a way somehow, I always do after all, and I've never left a mission unfinished or double-crossed a client. I'm pretty well known for this - my clients have come to expect it.

After not having much luck finding these things but still with about 5 days left to finish it, I decided to look around for clues. My search eventually led me to discover a few things about the Meta Alloys (mainly how rare they are and how it seems nobody's managed to find any), and eventually I turned up here. Now, I'm no stranger to Thargoids and the INRA (the less said the better), and I'm well aware of the recent craze surrounding the UA's. I've been following it with a casual interest for some time, but avoiding getting too involved for reasons I won't get into. I even helped out with Dr. Palin's mission to Maya, both on the delivery end and the peacekeeping end, happy to collect my reward and move on. It now seems like I may be getting more involved with this research effort than I originally intended. But I don't leave a mission unfinished.

So, I have 5 days left and a knack for finding things nobody else can find. How can I help?

Missions for VIU would be most appreciated.
Cant help you much with the Meta issue I am afraid. Raiding AutoMines would be what I would do if I had the mission.

Looks like ownership of col 285 sector IX-T D3-43 has changed in todays 2.03 update, Varati Independent Union now control the system!
Bounty hunting in col 285 sector IX-T D3-43 will now provide VIU bounties :D

Does this then put us in prime position to expand after building up VIU and then 'opening a can of whoop-ass' on them?
