How much money can you make per hour, and how do you do it?

I donated and delivered 10,000 tons of Zachary Hudson reinforcements, which cost me 90 million, but now I get 50 million a week salary and double bounty payouts. On one sortie today, which took 2 hours, I made 32 million, so 16 million an hour. In total, I made 82 million today, so I already have 42 million of the 90 million back. If you add the 41 million that I got from the double bounties, that means that I'm 2 million up and I have 6 more days of double bonuses. Next week, the cost of the reinforcements will only be about 40 million, so I'll get a surplus of 10 million before I even go out.

I'm carrying about 350 tons of his stuff at a time, which means about 15 trips. I found a couple of stops on the way back that get me nearly a million a time and I can do two trips an hour, so that helps to subsidise the cost of the reinforcements.

I'll write it all up when done to show how it works. At first, it looked like a break-even situation, where you have to deliver 50 million worth of stuff every week for a 50 million payout, but actually, it's much more complicated than that, and more lucrative too if you do it right.

The first investment is about 90 million, which is a very high risk. If you bump into someone and kill them at Gresley dock, bearing in mind that they dive-bomb you, or if you become wanted in Nanomam for any other reason after you've delivered 9500 tons, you're in big trouble.

I became wanted in Nanomam once when I was doing PP and was able to top up my 5 rating by delivering preparations. They can be taken to any controlled station. Something to keep in your back pocket if needed.

How did you get in and out of Gresley dock (ZH HQ) to collect the reinforcements if you were wanted?

Kinda weird, but I find Haz res farming more relaxing than trading. I usually will watch a crappy movie or listen to an audiobook or even read wikipedia while killing things. I often find I get into a weird pace of protecting miners and going after anacondas/pythons/clippers/fdl/fgs/fas whenever they appear. I go back and forth between an anaconda and fdl for haz res and find they are both pretty damn good. The conda is slow so it may not reach distant battles in time, but the fdl has less firepower, scbsl, and shields so it is a nice tradeoff.

With proper trigger discipline, I can make about a million every 10-15 shots with my 4A PA on my FDL. All in all, I am at about 3-5m cr/hour while trying to multitask. And whenever I want to take a break, I just park near an asteroid in 4-1-1 and won't worry too much even in open.

In my all-pulse Conda, with 45 scbs, it can remain at a haz res for DAYS. I just need a sober NPC to take over when I'm away.

Exploring with the BDS and DSS I'm getting about 25k per hour. Lots of no-planet systems ("duds) the last couple of days knocked down the average. Credits per hour will probably quadruple once I get the ADS and don't have to fly around every system looking for planets for 15-30 minutes.

I make a whopping 50k an hour in my cutter.

Yeah, yeah... you're all jealous of my 50k an hour and want to know my secret on how to much such a huge amount of credits per hour but I'm afraid it's top secret.

:D

No secrets here.

If I really put my mind to it I can pull in between 2.5 to 4 million an hour in a Hazardous RES.

Aside from that, Robigo smuggling runs will offer anywhere between 11 to 22 million an hour if you get a lucky roll on the bulletin board.

Just sayin'...

About 30M/hr on a loop route with 5k/t profit.

Lol, paltry
50M.. no 75M/hr here. And I'm flying hauler mind you.
... after consideration - 100M/hr - because why not.

did I win ?

I think OP was asking seriously, so let's not post our dreams here.

Anaconda 448t, ca 3k/t, 10 min - 2 stations 5ly away.

What kinds of ship load outs are those of you making 5+ mil/hour using? I am trying to save for a nice exploration setup, but am only making 1/200k a day.

532 type 9 is what I used in the beginning stages. A 4 jump route selling imp slaves will get you there. Beware, it's boring as heck.

Hmmm. I run this game in fun per hour mode, not credits per hour. No need to rush.

Yup. More or less sums it up for me. It's sometimes fun to see how much I'm making, and to see if I can figure out how to make more, but as a relative noob I'm more interested in learning what is fun than chasing endlessly after credits. And from what I read, once you've got to the stage I'm at, the fun-factor doesn't go up much with bigger ships anyway. And I have a Vulture for bounty-hunting (which does result in serious dosh), an Asp for exploring (which if I'm doing it properly will need a little more planning ahead than I've been doing until now), a Viper because I haven't sold it yet (not likely to use it again, though it might come in handy if I run into bounty problems at my home base - it's stored elsewhere), a Type 6 just in case I get the urge to shift 100 tons of something somewhere, a Cobra because it might come in useful (just tried mining in it - which didn't pay much, though I'd have done better if I had more of a clue what I was doing), and a Sidewinder for nostalgia. If I wanted credits fast, I could sell most of them - but where's the fun in that? There's many things I've not tried yet first - in fact there are probably things I've not even heard about yet to try. Chasing credits would be getting my priorities all wrong...

Out of curiosity what are people loops then?

high tech - industrial - extraction?

just wanted to see what people are trading and from what type of colonies?

Making about 2mil/h when "working" with T-7. Yes, not much, but in my other activities usually end up losing money... And I'm in no hurry!

Everyone missed the NECRO!

The original thread is out of date as so much has changed in the months since the last reply. Keeping threads that old can only cause misinformation to be spread if people don't read the date of posts. Next time please start a new one.

I can make around 10-20 (20 is max) millions per hour in my shieldless Cobra with long range smuggling missions. Depends on how much time i want to spend to switch through the solo/open to get missions with very low cargo.
