Stop with the ramming!

Not at all, just bad AI programming. However I have noticed that in combat some ships do run away if I am beating them, sensible, that's what I do if I am being bested in combat.
Ramming is random by the AI but it does happen to often and not always in combat
true, if I remember, I always try to record my launches; due to the number of bumps I get in stations.

I ram stuff all the time in my FAS. It's valid, especially if you have the larger mass and the target has no shields.

Agreed. At a stand still or flying straight I'm constantly getting rammed by NPCs. Happens all the time when waiting at nav points. No prob if it's an Eagle, not so funny when it's a big boy. Please fix.

Xbox 1 version.

I've been farming in a Haz RES all week. Yes, they try and ram you. Is it a problem? No. The FAS and FDS will fly straight at you with guns blazing. Use your vertical thrusters to drop out of the way. Other ships do it, but always veer away at the last moment. Many ships now overshoot when scanning you, so, when you scan them, put throttle to full reverse if they're anywhere near and be ready to use vertical thrusters if it looks like they won't stop. They will be trying to slow down, so you can reduce reverse throttle once the situation is under control. There's also a few random rammings from other ships when you're in a dogfight with a ship that's not the one that rams you. It would be boring if RES farming was too easy. Personally, I love these disruptions. I had two bounties on me this week that weren't my fault. You wouldn't have wanted to be in the room with me when they happened, but now, looking back on it, it was just a bit of fun. It just means that you have to move on and do something new. I was lucky I did move on because I found an even better system for hunting.

I agree with other people that this type of ramming is new, but you soon get used to dealing with it.

They never hit me if I do these at the same time.
- right foot pedal (so rudder right)
- right lateral thruster

Not so new, it was a big problem at one stage in beta. Even moreso considering collisions did way more damage at that point. I suspect that somehow they have reintroduced that bug.

Expect the "I don't have it L2play" crowd though.
I don't have it.... but I expect it's because I'm flying a much smaller ship than most of you.

Maybe the ramming system should at least tie into the bounty system differently. Getting rammed from behind by an Eagle and getting charged with murder makes no sense.

Let's have a dog fight... I use ramming if I've got shields, and the targets sheilds are nearly down, at the point lasers overheat...

It's a tactic, Use it or learn to avoid it.... Fly FA off, it's easier to avoid things.

Although I had being rammed by a FAS...

NPCs had the collision avoidance part of their brain removed a few updates ago. Probably for the same reason that other parts of ED seem to be going backwards in terms of quality.

It's just a bug related to scanning... Somehow the NPC closing logic has gone bananas and in some cases they simply don't slow-down while executing a scan.

You'll notice that you still get the normal scenario where an NPC stops about 1km away and asks if you are carrying anything then dismisses you with a "Bah, nothing..." or whatever. In other cases they do the same thing, but simply point directly at you, going full-throttle! The scan could never possibly complete, and the ship-types make no sense (NPC Eagle ramming a Corvette!), so it's obviously unintended.

Just a bug that needs to be squashed, nothing more sinister than that...

FWIW - this is a new thing that has only just started happening. It is getting tiresome.

Yep, I've noticed this too at Nav Beacons recently. It seems to me the behaviour is only from "friendly" ships - fellow bounty hunting NPCs - who come over for a nosey, smack into you, then fly away.

I "murdered" an eagle the other day. I was stationary, watching an interesting bit of a movie on another screen when he slammed into the back of me.

The money was a pittance. Having to jump out, buy a sidie, jump back, dock, die, then go fetch my ship again, was the pain...
