Basically, what they promised they should deliver!

Hi Germidor.

I agree with what you're saying, but as IceFire122 was saying just above, we'll try to keep this thread civil in order to keep it open and running.

If like us you feel like you should have received a Viper Mk IV, file a support ticket like suggested by Zac Antonaci here.
Hopefully, with the amount of evidence we gathered, the issue of the missing Viper will be sorted sooner rather than later :)

Just had an update from Frontier Support re. my ticket:

Fortunately everyone who is owed the Viper Mark IV will be receiving it tomorrow automatically. It will be docked at a certain station for you to pick up and more information will be updated in the FAQ's and news letter. :)

Still fairly vague and didn't actually answer my question to them, which was regarding my account, not everyone's! I've asked them to confirm whether I am included in "everyone"!

Still - some people will be getting a Viper Mk IV tomorrow.

Thats good news, did they mention anything about the Thargoid Battlecruiser we were all promised as well?

Been wondering the same thing.

A) I never got my starting Cobra
B) I never got my Cobra Mk IV
C) Never got one of the 5 free new ships.. (which I thought was actually 5 free ships)

For the most part they certainly did honor their agreement. Even sent me the DVD etc which I really didn't need (they coulda saved money and kept it). They added in a free paint job here and there. So I'm cool with it.

Just saying.. though.

Thanks epoch71, I'll hold off venting until tomorrow. ;)

I'm going to strongly suggest that anyone who doesn't get the Viper they're entitled to tomorrow spams nine Hells out of support. FD really need to know that the community will hold them to their promises.

I was hoping for an update during the server maintenance. However, my stored ships remain the same as yesterday.

Anybody found a Viper MKIV today after the maintenance break?

It's been said many times but it's worth saying again The Cobra MKIV was never a free ship .. it was always a ship that you could have Access to in game for in game credits (if you owned Season 1 and season 2 as a limited time offer, think it's still available but you'd have to check)

Unfortunately, the German version of the shop stated differently until it was corrected. Roughly translated, it said, that the Cobra MKIV will be added to your account, not just the access to it for in-game Cr.

In the meantime, this translation error was resolved. The German games magazine Gamestar reported about it in December:

Nope, I still only have the Viper Mk IV I bought for credits in my current "home" system, far away from any starter systems where I expect the free Viper will appear.
I just sold it to avoid any confusion.

My ticket has been up for 72 hours now, I'll probably get an answer some time soon.

The support quote by epoch71 mentionned the newsletter, we may get more information in the next one.

I paid £50 for beta access and yet the websites are saying it's free for players who paid OVER £50. Can you please clarify if I get a free Viper mkIV? I'm not too bothered as I already bought one but just want to check. Thanks.

Well I think it depends, are you a Kickstarter backer or did you buy/pledge beta access for season ONE from the Frontier store? Which one?

Have you checked? I logged on tonight and found that they have now given me my Viper IV. Ive had no official answer from my support ticket yet though, so guess I'll close it. I recommend you have a look under Stored ships to see if its there...they put mine 60LY away from my current position.

At least Frontier have honoured their promise to me. Hopefully everyone else who were due a Viper IV have received one today as well

It's just a shame we had to wait over a year, spam the forum with Viper Mk IV threads, and then spam Support with tickets just to get what is, effectively, a ONE TIME ONLY donation of an impressive 437,930 credits....

I mean, with my current ingame assets I can buy roughly 600 Viper Mk IVs :)

But hey, I'm done complaining, at least we got an answer :D

I checked this morning, around 10am GMT, I didn't check tonight yet.

Edit : I just checked right now, and I don't have a Viper Mk IV in the Barnard's Star system (the location given in the Support FAQ).

OK, I paid £50 for Elite Dangerous Beta on 30th July 2014. Does this make me eligible? (I'm pretty sure I was eligible for some kind of artwork booklet too - another story maybe....)

edit: Actually scratch my previous answer.

Kickstarter ended before July 2014. This means you must have bought the beta through the store, and so yes I believe you are entitled to a free Viper Mk IV.

"On 7th Jan 2016, we will start issuing a Viper MK IV at Miller Depot in Barnard’s Star to all eligible accounts as mentioned above."

So keep an eye out at Miller Depot!
