UAs, Barnacles & More Thread 5 - The Canonn

Just a few questions, sorry if some have already been answered or are just plain obvious....

1. Random POI, Persistent POI, or mix?
2. If can't been seen from orbital, can we get an estimated height they are visible?
3. When in SRV, are the detectable with the scanner or are they like the persistent crash in the Orrere system, where the wreck itself wasn't detectable, only the cargo it carried?

Thank You for any answers to these questions.

Having watched the thread for ages I feel we are all wasting our time. It is all determined by a keystroke/mouse click somewhere in sunny Cambridge. Once a dead end is reached they drip feed another clue. There will be more to come in 2.1, a bit more in 2.2 until 2.aliens... But do keep going, it helps kill time at work! Wish I had the time..
Sure we all know Thargoids will come later. But what we do know and it's been confirmed is barnacles are in the game at this very moment. Somewhere out there, sitting on a planet, are barnacles.

Drip drip, like water torture. Just about to head out searching myself. Maybe if I sellotape a 50p to my hotas it might help..

Any ice planets in Merope?

In 2005, an international team of astronomers discovered that dying red giant stars could act like a defibrillator and bring icy planets back from the dead. This rebirth could also lead to new breeding grounds for life, scientists believe.
Why is Earth so good at hosting life? The short answer is location. We're in a prime real estate area with our star to keep our planet habitable. Too close, and our planet's water would evaporate. Too far, and we're a frigid icebox.
Right before a star dies, it explodes into its red giant phase, rapidly ballooning in size and brightness, blasting planet-warming solar radiation far and wide. Hello, sunshine! If these rays from the dying star were to wash over a once-frozen moon or exoplanet, the planetary body's icy layer would melt into liquid: setting the stage for life to form in a flowing ocean.

Right, this could be a code.

If we take each first letter we have T K N F.
What do we get if we then convert that to binary, and then combine that with octal. Coordinates possibly?
On my way now

Nonono it's a substitution cypher, if you travel to FDs offices you'll find the cyphertext alphabet glued to the underside of a desk, which desk you ask? why just use that mysterious log message that was posted on redit to figure it out of course!

I think it's pretty obvious that most of you guys are now suffering from space madness. inb4 you all start flying into the sun yelling ''IT'S GOTTA BE IN THERE HAHAHAAAHAHA!''

odd sounds on srv scanner again, this time nothing on scanner that is showing anything there.
might just be space madness

Not space maddness. Its a POI in the far distance that isn't registering visually on the scanner (The blue circle POIs)

You can actually hear things on the scanner prior to them showing a visual aspect. I've sat a few times in the SRV and slowly rotated with a completely empty scanner to pick up sounds, and Ive heard identical to this with no special results sadly

I did spend a warm 20 minutes sitting a few LS from Meriope earlier today to see if anything happened, now that you mention it.

This is like playing hide and seek. Mr Brookes is giggling because he knows where the rest are hidden and teases the seeker with the information.
