I know probably no one will believe me but my ship instantly docked at 3km altitude onto thin air. Was cruising at 150 kmh and it just went to 0 in half a second. I couldn't believe it so I relogged and was still parked onto nothing. Thrust up, went forward and backward again only to redock onto nothing once more.

I deployed SRV.
Fell 3 km all the way to the surface of Pleione 4. Not sure how my SRV didn't just explode (and it's nearly 2g here too) but I made it..
Wish I had a screenshot of this but I was too busy going whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. I can't spot my ship from here it's too high or something.

This planet is f'd up.

We believe you because these things happen from time to time. I also had one yesterday above merope 3c

Known bug that one. Makes for an easy landing. :)

happened to me too. A few bug reports over on the bug forum indicate it's a known issue

KN Muscae 1 looks empty.
Magnetic poles + hill coord. + stadium coord searched and a huge noumber of POIs.

But.

This planet and the nebula around it is something to look at. I can't really describe how gorgeous this place is. At some point I felt happy just driving on it and enjoying the view and didn't really care about our tartget. Nice open plains, easy to keep up high speed. Someone might be luckier than I was. If you're close by don't miss landing here!!!
If you're tired of looking for barnacles, just stop for a moment and enjoy the beauties this game can give you. I'm sure that'll fill up your willpower to continue later.

Ok, after two hours of reading 40+ pages I have to surrender to my bleeding eyes.

Just a word for developer team.

I'm little concerned about players experiencing game crashes near POI's. It happened to me aswell.
I'm mostly worried about client crash related to >>>barnicle<< files.

Given the rarity of barnacle encounters (we didnt find any yet) it won't be easy to report it in the bugs section.
May we have a notification from FDevs that they actually work as intended and there's no known bug?

I'll put the player's post in a spoiler, so ppl will not be bothered and... spoiled

Read that player's post again carefully. Keep rereading it until you realise it has the opposite meaning than you thought, and stop spreading FUD.

Never had this bug so far, figured it was probably it but the strangeness of this planet made it feel like ''something else''. Oh well, back to rock staring.

Hm. Trailer gives no indication of any location. It's just barnacles (maybe) and mist. No sky shot or even a ground color.

I think disagree with you there. I've spent a while this week (in between reading a humungous number of pages of this thread per day) looking at the trailer, & posted a tentative spreadsheet timeline analysis on the previous thread. I think there are at least 4 or 5 diffferent locations shown in the trailer but suspect they are related, e.g. a Sidey lands on an ice moon close by a ringed Jovian (stars visible above the yellow sun), & I think that Jovian is shown in the distance when the red cobra flies in over the red misty canyons & lands at the spaceport. I suspect the misty ship graveyard site is on the same moon as the "assumed barnacles" which is the next scene. There seem to be no visual clues in the barnacles scene, but if you increase the brightness & contrast on the crash scene there is a pattern of bodies which I've been trying to match with the Pleiades stars using the Galmap - it's driven me crazy & I am coming to the conclusion that they are not stars but are moons in a single system. I've highlighted them here. So am wondering if this hypothesis fits in with one of the Pleiades as the location, e.g. Maia. Nobody picked up my comment that MB said the "nebula with the seven sisters" i.e. seven related bodies such as Maia's seven red dwarfs? as opposed to the Pleiades nebula which is a name & therefore should be capitalised as Seven Sisters; MB is an author so I suspect that was an intentional hint rather than a grammatical error people have been asking if we've missed any clues). I did try to investigate Maia on Sunday but got to Obsidian Orbital to find I'd lost my two SRVs (a tad annoying! I'd fitted my ASP with a dual hangar in Cherets after the Anduliga fireworks CG), but think I must have offloaded the bays & SRV to reduce weight while participating in the bounty hunting CG there. Had to jump 150ly back to collect the bays- may finally get to join in tomorrow.

When you log on and find dozens of pages to read to catch up, I suggest to take a look at the Front Page, as I'm always updating it, if something relevant happens.

*****************ALERT******************
IF SOMEONE FINDS A BARNACLE, PLEASE PM ME

It could be easier for me to update the FrontPage immediately, as I have to catch up the same as you, sometimes ;)

Thanks.

I think there might be a little confusion. There were two trailers. They lead with the in-game trailer (which has cockpit footage, a wing flying down a canyon and diamond backs launching from a pad). The trailer with JFK's "we choose to go to the moon" speech had the 'barnacles' in and wasn't in-game, that's a cinematic launch trailer made during development of Horizons using the assets but before the actual game was ready. This was discussed in the live stream.

I think they do use Cobra for cinematic trailers but not the actual game itself.

Oh blast my thrusters!

I, for one, am going to continue to hunt clues that may point to a more specific location. Flying/Driving around aimlessly hoping to hit the RNG lottery is not my idea of fun.

I agree, but unfortunately I was apparently suffering under the misaprehension that the release trailer was game-based & provided us some clues!
