This is the signal just before it cuts out. If I roll forward 10 feet from this point, the wave scanner is empty. Roll back 10 feet, and I get this signal again. Go forward 20 feet and turn 180 and it's not there, go forward 20 feet and 180 again (so I'm back to the start) and there it is again.

It looks rather like a far away signal that hasn't resolved yet. I've had them a few times myself.

Balls, just got blasted away after jumping to morphe!! A CMDR in a black clipper!!.. I only had one rebuy for my Python so she's staying docked for now! I'm out of the search till I get some Python funds back up, I'll be in my Hauler doing BB missions, if anything comes up shout me!! Anyone fancy killing the clipper in morph I'd be in you debt for ever!..

No, I'd followed it for quite a ways, it had started out much wider and weaker and resolved down to just that strong narrow spike, which usually means you're really close.

In Merope now in an FDL. Will be winging up soon and taking the fight back to them. Anyone interested in helping add me (Cmdr Chris Lane) once you get close

Yea I would like to point out that there are Commanders in Open Play in Maia/Merope that I am friends with and that I know to be RP-Backed Griefers. I'm not one to say this usually, but I do recommend heading to solo or Private Group if you wish to stay safe-er in the investigation.

Strange Floating Rocks, I'm sure it's a glitch, but I can confirm that at least the ones at jump height are solid, so they're not just graphical glitches.

This is on a 1g world in the Pleiades...

I happened to switch to the Twitch feed to watch this wonder-warrior. He had his buddies there, spawning in almost instantly. Sorry to watch you go down.

Reminds me of the 4 v 1 CQC matches. Yeah, it's hard not to die in that situation. I guess it makes him think he's a leet PVP'r.

He was waiting on a CMDR in a Corvette to exit. One wingmate dropped, another was in another system, and one buddy docked. The Corvette came out. Did our brave CMDR attack? Nah... He's only effective with a full wing.

No I think you're missing my point. It's exactly because we are only looking at the Pleiades because Michael specifically said they are there that is making me annoyed with the whole thing. We made the assumption early on that the Barnacles were in the Pleiades because the UA's pointed there, then Michael basically says that the UA's aren't pointing at Merope because of the barnacles, so our one in game connection is gone. So either we were expected to somehow work out his "obvious" reason for why the Barnacles were in Nebulae and then search some Nebulae for untold amounts of manhours OR there was some other clue, and all my requests for a simple yes/no on whether there even is another in game clue have gone unanswered and I have spent a whole lot of time searching for clues.

If there is some in game clue I wouldn't mind, but then I'd have liked for Michael to give us hints towards where that is, not hints towards where the Barnacles are, the very fact that he felt he needed to do it this way suggests to me that this really is as vague as I feared.

It's also irritating that he even needed to come onto these forums in the first place, GalNet exists for this kind of information to be shared with the community.
Anyway this is bringing up old stuff that I had already mentioned earlier today, I am not content with how this is going and will not be spending more time in the Pleiades because after 30+ hours all told searching planets I've grown very much bored of it.

Ok, yeah, I agree that we shouldn't need hints from Michael here. Although I don't see a lot of difference between Michael saying something here and Michael posting something on Galnet. Obviously FD were not expecting the barnacles to be so difficult to find (though some simple maths would have enlightened them).

So.. I have a weird thing happening. Last UA I grabbed I took to a planet in Merope I believe and dropped it in orbit. Never saw it again. But heard it as it disappeared somewhere below me is my best guess. So now.. here I am going to get another. I've dropped into 2 separate SSS where I hear the UA, get scanned, and then nothing. Not on my sensors, not on my contacts, no noise again. So I apparently cannot get another. I guess they are running from me?

I doubt FD is upset about it taking this long and generating this much interest - emergent gameplay and all.

So class b - blue white star, means it's loosing hydrogen - massive, so likely to go supernova/blackhole - nebulas fueled by just such events in lots of cases.

Good place to look? have we put much time into electra? looks a lot like recent branding - recent galnet news pertaning to the lost, and this is in some myths the lost pleiad - only three landable bodies and a pretty cool hue to the system - it's where I've chosen to waste the evening anyway.

Bout to drop into a world in a planetary nebula near the core. Any suggestions on where/how to look? (Keep in mind this will be like the third time I've flown near the surface of a planet.)

So one of the things I'm seeing here is, when I go down to investigate a PoI, sometimes it doesn't render till I'm right on top of it. UI generally cruise between 1.7-2.2 km, and when I see a PoI I dive in to try and find the structure. One time I closed with the surface in a straight line, and then a structure literally materialized about 400k right in front of my face as I watched.
.
So at this point I'm willing to declare that I already found a Barney, but the game engine prevented me from seeing it.

This is more or less what I have experienced with them.
My diamondback Scout vs 1 clipper, 1 Corvette, 1 FAS and I don't remember what was the 4th ship.
I barely survive each time I faced them. Nothing more to do but to escape in such an unbalance situation.
But I did enjoy helping out the Cmdr flying an Imperial Courrier when he was ambushed just in front of the station's letterbox entrance.
I wish I had a more powerfull ship at this moment and some Cmdrs from both the Hutton Truckers or Dark Echo groups to provide better protection.

Anyway, this is not the reason why I came back to the Pleades nebula in first place.
