Where can I get meta-alloys? I noticed other commanders shoot the barnacles, but typical minerals came out.

Meta alloys seems to grows over the spikes and are well visible also before shooting them down.

There's two spikes with big fruit/flowers/whatever on them. Each of those drops a mineral fragment, which when collected is a meta-alloy.
Sounds about right. They'll be green glowing textures but the same ships in every other way, and FD will call it a new season wanting another £40 for them...
You normally get at least two per spawn, just shoot all the barnacles. I'm with JGM, selling these things is probably making the situation worse.
@Eddy, pretty sure the station was stable before everyone starting finding and selling alloys?

The UA is not growed by barnacle .... But it's other way around.
Once UA finds after scans suitable planet and place it's dig in and the containers opens to the crop starts begin to grow in the barnacle. At least that's corresponding with the images I saw ( on top of the structure you see head of UA and the body with containers buried underground )
From were tinkakels grow up out of the ground and around the UA head.

You guys test things like the inquisition did interrogations.
Unless station staff are actually replacing parts of the station with new parts constructed from meta-alloys, I can't see selling them helping.
So, I was doing some analysis on the morse code segments, and it appears that each chunk has it's own set of letter pairs. Thus far I have not yet found a message with any more than 33 unique letter pairs, leading me to theorize that each unique letter pair is itself a single character translated.
I mean, yeah, this has been speculated.
Also, to expand on this, the top of the UA's head (the "mouth") looks like it could grow into a barnacle, and maybe the pods are what grow out into the spikes and extract minerals to funnel back to the head/barnacle (which I have also speculated in the past to be where the materials/meta-alloys are stored).
It's looks like yeah. The more I look at the more I start to believe that the UA is the actual seed for barnacle.
The question still remains if it so.... What will be finally grow up out of this seed?
Don't think that barnacle is the end product!!!

I think it is more a matter of now we know what we are looking for we are able to find them. Rather like the UAs.
If it is a barnacle, it should evolve and then settle on the ground upside down. The cone is just a shell they build around them for protection. The real thing is inside.
That's a good point. What if the barnacles are actually building upon themselves with the meta-alloys that are synthesized, growing into something bigger?
Yes, I know, it was a first thought. It really depends from which angle this is looked at. If you move around in the galaxy map, the Witchhead Nebula fits in. But I'd be surprised if its really this easy

After yesterdays post about a UA convoy found in Witchehead nebula, & now the possible link to the barnacle symbol, I think its a very good place to start looking.
I say we kill them now before they have the chance do do anything to harm us.
