Is that first picture not another galaxy? What nebula is it?
It's the LMC, I was posting the same thoughts on it.
What if, with the new Antares drives hype, we'll be able to travel to another Galaxy?

Has anyone, or group of individuals, attempted to sell the Meta-Alloys to Obsidian Orbital to see if it helps with the station technical issues?
The barnacle spikes (at least the ones from Merope 5C) have a chance to spawn (amongst more common materials) Yttrium/Mercury/Arsenic/Tungsten
Beware if sighseeing near Anaconda: 20.8736 - 91.6983
I am being warned that the cutter hovering by it is killing people.

If someone actually bothered to take the time to come up with a decent RP angle justifying their distaste for the research (I mean I could, and I want MOOOAR research!) and allowing for a bit of true fair combat (i.e. enlisted combat cmdrs on both sides etc) then I might have more respect for this.
But a Cutter - against an exploration/science vessel!?
Must be such a skillful CMDR there to take out research ships. I'm in awe.

160kly? I don't think so
Nothing that says whoever's 'over there' couldn't get 'over here' though...

6mil credits? what did I miss?
Yeah, yesterday I respawned on the barnacle site and got shot on the ground by a ship. Those guys are cowards looking for easy pickings. If I had anything to do about it, they would be put in the griefers instance pool instead of bothering honest players under false pretences.
Just to confirm again... 40km away from the Barnacle, the anaconda crashed...
In fact 2 anacondas...? https://www.flickr.com/photos/elitedangerousbrasil/24298634611/in/pool-elitedangerousbrasil

Great picture as well! SRV, crashed Anaconda, Nebula, Galactic arm and a potato moon!o7
The edge of the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy is closer to Sol than Sagittarius A*. I think that's the closest Galaxy to ours unless something closer has been discovered, a lot closer than the LMC anyway. You still need a LOT of jumponium though![]()
I admit this is complete speculation on my part, but, from a distance standpoint the LMC should be a doable affair with some proper handwavium I would think' as opposed to say Andromeda. I think with the proper materials mix (read stuff that comes out of these alien structures) and a badass military / hybrid drive Mk.III you could synthesize a proper one shot galactic hyperdrive that can blast you all the way to the LMC.... that would be nice.
I thought it was closer to $400K?
Also, someone posted a screen grab here of an "alternate" mission that appeared after he had harvested some Meta-Alloy, in which a System Security Officer was offering him double ($800+K) for the MA.
Yes, can we have an update/feedback from whoever got that mission update on what happened please?
Great so we just discovered what seems to be a living alien species. And what is the first thing that we do? Let's shoot it and sell it! Has no one thought of the potential ramifications of doing this? Isn't it us that started the thargoid war by shooting first?
