UAs, Barnacles & More Thread 5 - The Canonn

Someone came on a 100 pages or so back... We have seen otherwise. It was a bit of a spoiler...nuff said.

Would you explain? Cause so far I didn't see anything relevant about that, and following the thread since the begining.
Still convinced they are large compare to ours, nothing more.

Two Points:

1). My game. My choice.
2). Thats the second encounter, the first encounter was in 3125 when the thargoid invaders were gloriously pulling my FDL out into witchspace and attempting to blow me up. (I was there!). Your ignoring that and jumping straight to 75 years later.

So My choice as to what I do.

Also :

I'm not 100% sure that the image on the constructs is Barnards Loop. To me it appears to be the Seven Sisters As seen from earth......

To expand on this I thought that maybe the Thargoids/Aliens of mysterious origin are in cahoots with the corporation that owned the yellow crates on the crashed anacondas and may have picked a symbol of something that is meaningful to the aliens (that particular nebula) in a way that is recognisable for earthlings.

Anyone else also think that maybe Frontier are reading this thread and picking out the best conspiracy theory and using that for the story going forward :)

I ain't flying MY ship in any alternate universe fluidic goo thank you very much.

Unfortunately I just lost my UA, as my cargo hatch failed dropping the UA on the surface of Merope 5C. Hopefully, it has not been damaged as it dropped from only a few hundred meters height, within very close distance to the first barnacle site. If the barnacles are some kind of alien or synthetic life form, comparable to a plant or fungus, and the UA's represent their seeds or spores, we will soon have a new site close-by.

This theory would also explain why the UA's have been spotted within a certain distance surrounding the merope system: If the first barnacle has been generated due to an initial contamination with a first UA travelling through space from a distant world, it seems straightforward that the first barnacle spread its "spores" around merope as it grew up. This finally lead to another "infection" on Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2. The fact that barnacles have only been found on metal-rich worlds without atmosphere also supports this theory, as the atmosphere may lead to the destruction of the UA and the metals may be the nutriment the barnacles need. This would also match the observation that the UA's damage ships and space station - maybe because they are extracting metals from the surrounding structures. If the barnacles in fact reproduce like this, their population should show signs of exponential growth as we have yet to find a limiting factor restraining the barnacle growth.

You may speculate that the barnacles and UA's may be sophisticated biotechnological weapon spread by the thargoids to prepare systems for ressource extraction.

The crashed conda's bridge looks pretty sad from this angle.

Deliver your samples to our science team at bond hub in Varati which have been researching a cure for several months now or obsidian orbital in maia where scientists from all over the galaxy as well as a second canonn science team have gathered to await the opening of palins lab

The first few info posts seem to be getting a bit unwieldy now - I can't seem to find the list of confirmed barnacle locations.

That big spreadsheet doesn't seem to have a barnacle list.

Spot on!
but Han Zen tested ths in a recent post (yesterday?)- it's probably the quality of your internet connection

I wonder if this notion of 'quality' can eventually be made somewhat more specific. What's wrong with my internet connection? Or is something wrong with the game, causing it to expect a certain level of bandwidth or a maximum amount of latency?

Nothing to do with internet connection, i have a 80mb/s rate and it happens that i have to restart the game in order to see the barnacles...
