UAs, Barnacles & More Thread 5 - The Canonn

There are a whole load of planets in Orion. I'm going to stop looking on the surfaces because I have no idea what to look for.

One thing I found out before I came here, I saw a medical transport in a system near Hind Nebula that left a high wake in the general direction of Orion. Now putting together the idea that the barnacles in the pleiades were seeded by an human accident... I'm thinking that maybe some humans are doing experiments in Orion in secret and away from everyone, but someone on the bubble must know about them, because they were transporting the UAs to the bubble in the beginning.
Judging by the speed of the UA and Barnacle "infection", that is, in a matter of months, they spanned 150ly around Merope, it must mean that the UAs have the means to make an fsd jump and that might be what Caine-Massey was experimenting with.

Also, the logo on the barnacle (and it's funny that some people referred to it immediately as a logo) may be a genetic modification made to look like the Barnard's Loop, but also a C... a C for Caine-Massey

Do you think the Symbol on this barnacle (Photo taken from FD Newsletter)

has somthig to to with this Nebula/Galaxy on the Galaxymap:

The Symbole Looks like a negative from this Nebula/Galaxy

The inconsistence here is that Caine-Massey crates are common in any Crashed Anaconda Site in-game, and not specific of the Anaconda Wreckage near the Barnacles.
There are strong suspects that those craters are not related in any way with the Barnacles, but just common assets from the wreckage sites.

So, or we assume that any Crashed Anaconda everywhere in the Galaxy has something to do with UA or Barnacles (very unlikely), or it's just a Red herring thing.

It's on the Front Page, btw.

I haven't tried to prove this theory yet, but I have noticed that a lot of the barnacles are near canyon walls.
I'm wondering if they need to be in as much darkness as possible and if true may make finding them a little easier?

My problem is that I don't play all the time - so I don't get to visit planets at their different times of day lol

PS as fast as I am catching up with the conversation, the more there is to read. lol

...

And are we looking at the barnacle logo the wrong way round. Think of the dark area as space...

Sorry if this info is already available but do we have a list of stations that have been damaged/shutdown because of malfunctions. I would be interested to know the prices offered for Meta-Alloys at different stations. Are they worth more at more damaged stations?

I have just visited the persistent POI at Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2 2, and observed TWO Barnacles while on site. I could observe one site from other, and drove between the sites in the SRV.

Reading a bit, and checked the spreadsheet... Looks like several Barnacles are known in this area. Mine is near one of the others listed, but I didn't see more than the two sites while I was there. I've submitted the report to the spreadsheet, anyway.

Screenshot of the second site (note that coordinates do not match the persistent site):

And a screenshot from that same Barnacle site pictured above, looking at the persistent POI, which you can see in the darkness, centered in my SRV camera view:

EDIT: And while touring both sites, I did not see any of the large "ripe" Meta-Alloys on the spires. Only the smaller type.

Took this footage last night.

So the meta-alloy "pods".

It's like yellow is the new purple.

They colour-pulse every ~9.5 seconds at exactly the same time, either green or yellow.

For reference the UAs pulse green/purple.

I'm not necessarily expecting this to lead anywhere but I've transcribed the pulses and abstracted them away from colours to 0/1. (green is 0, yellow is 1). To make life easy for anyone who feels they might want to have a look.

This is 10 minute's worth from the video.

It seems kinda different to the UA, in that by far the vast majority of UA pulses were purple.

Here the left pod was 24/39 and right 27/36 (green/yellow), relative to the UA it's a much closer ratio. Ratios of 61% and 75% respectively.

If you try to "shift" the left/right patterns up/down, it does not look like they are outputting the same sequence but "out of sync" - if you see what I mean.

Though 10 minutes only gives you ~60 data points so not necessarily ruling it out.

FWIW they stop pulsing + emitting blue twinklies if you knock 'em off with a stick.

When I'm looking at the barnacle I have the feeling these things with the symbol on it (every second) are like clamps securing the inner core, which is pulsing in a green light, same as the outer organic structures do.
Any chance to get something exploding near it?
Maybe drop an UA near it and let it explode?

So the Caine-Massey crates are not specific to the barnacle crash site?

Could the ship then have been towed in,
by barnacles in order to feed on the wreckage?

I guess either a wild "FSD disruption" would be fodder for a theory,
or maybe they lured the anaconda in, with a faked distress signal
sent in morse.
Then somehow grabbed the approaching ship.

Just some tinfoiled thinking;)

So 400 billion stars aren't enough for you? We haven't explored this galaxy and now you want to go explore another one?

Are you REALLY trying to defend the amount of content in this game?

Sure, we already have a massive amount of systems. But what of it? Do you really expect us to explore all of them before we are "allowed" new content?

Really, the point of going to another galaxy isn't because of the number of systems. Do you really think an explorers goal is to see as many systems as possible? No. It's to see new and unique sights.
