so..................
when is this season kicking off?

where is the stream of content?
(and please! no more Beta periods)

2.0 has already been released (therefore it has already been "kicked off") and the other updates will most likely come in a similar pace as last year (which is what they have said).

Of course there will be Beta periods...them selling Beta versions of Horizons is a clue... ;)

No, I still get RES crashes.
I am kind of astonished this issue, with as much word time as it gets here on these forums, is taking so long to fix.

I have yet to see that crash, which makes me think it might be specific to certain graphics cards or graphics drivers. It's possible they're having trouble reproducing it on their hardware. Just a guess, though.

For information, I had my first RES crash yesterday, it took me some research to understand what "RES" stood for, I was in a resource extraction site and it just froze. I just waited it out and then the "Send report" gui came up, and I described to Frontier what I was doing before the freeze. Windows soon later closed the client and tried to "resolve" lol. I hope that crash report will help!

In the game a week, a group of 4 of us. All clean machines, powerful yet vanilla.

Crashing when we get to certain systems, around certain ships and we cannot see each others ships at times even tho the 'ghost' is there.

Completely unacceptable. I don't need to give more detail with these crashing as I KNOW many many many others are seeing the same items and furthermore there is a crash log that runs that we all fill out and submit.

This pay for Alpha/Beta model is a joke and this is the first and LAST time I support it. Whom ever had the big idea to take in money for unfinished games is a genius to the dev work, and ONLY the dev world. And now that it has started it will never stop due to people following the heard and not demanding excellence from developers. more $^&*# games to come in the 21st century! Devs can now pull the plug on a beta game when they look at the numbers and realize the have made money and abandon and move on. This model demands no excellence from people.

Again, first and last time.

Do I want this game to succeeded? Certainly.

Just bought the horizons version and have copied the voucher to my clipboard but the redeem link is not working on my account page. No links work on the page apart from options. Any ideas?
update:
did it manually, but a problem with the link.

Yep, welcome to Wings, released the better part of 9 months ago and still doesn’t work properly.

My last few months of experience with wings is - I was in a small group of 3 players and Wings failed 95% of the time, Player A could wing and text chat with Player B, Player A could wing and text chat with player C, but player B could not see or text player C even though player A showed B and C as being in the same wing. This happening now and then would be understandable with the instancing model but not 9 time out of ten.

I hate to say it, but i'm a little bit disappointed right now. Not with the game itself, but with the amount of bugs and the communication on that. I really don't get why being so silent in terms of bugs is a good idea.
Would it be so hard to communicate things like: 'this bug is found and fixed in the next patch' 'if all goes right we expect to release the next patch next wednesday' or somesuch?
I really hoped for another small patch this week, adressing broken mission and things...
Just keeping us informed what they're working on, what has highest priority or would be solved soon.

Otherwise one gets the slight feeling they're already focusing on the next major update instead of squashing bugs in the actual release, what i'd see as a miserable failure.

Just a little more communication regarding the bug forum would be much, much appreciated.
Enough of the standard phrase 'we're still investigating'
Please, tell us what is fixed, and when.

Closing with 'i love this game more than i should'

Second this.

I bought ED knowing the dev model but to be honest, lately with all the bugs and broken missions i've not had the inclination to play it. I'd like to progress further with the game but given it's current state I'm not sure I want to endure time spent on a mission only to find I can't complete it.

I think that FD really need to focus their attention now on fixing what's broken and concentrating on keeping everyone informed at least to some extent about their intended plans. It's ok if things slide or take longer than projected, it happens - but not hearing about what's being worked on, especially as this "live" development model/process is how they are producing the game, is a little poor to say the least.

Come on FD, whats the plan team?

So we are now 1 month 1 day into no fix for the RES crash bug anyone think we'll see one this up coming week?

I see two possibilities here:

1. they put so much effort in Horizons developement and release that they are now energy dried and need some long rest.
2. they introduced so many bugs that it will need a very long work session to put out a hotfix.

or maybe both...

Oh that will soon wear off!

Really? I've been at it since release and I still love it. Best money I ever spent and yes, there are some problems. It's not perfect. Nothing this side of the grave is. But even with the bugs and the occasional failed shadow delivery mission, I still love it. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!! And I can take and process criticism of the game so I don't consider myself a fangal.

I don't have those issues. Have you contacted support?

The problem here is this game will never be finished. It will always be unfinished. There is always more content to add. As for the pay for Beta Access, no one is forcing you to pay for it. You can still play the current version and never pay for a season Beta. If you mean you consider the current state of the game to be alpha or beta, then then we can just agree to disagree. This game is not perfect and likely never will be. But the state it's in is Release, not Alpha or Beta. No program can ever be fully debugged. There is simply not enough time to go through every single possibility with every single hardware setup. That's unfortunate, but that is life.

Good for you, I've also played since v.1.0 release I've also got more and more frustrated with Fdevs abominable QA with each release.

I agree. I'm ready to give money for this game, every years if needed, but not without a clear roadmap, for the patchs and the add-ons.

But, maybe the team is bunt out, and in holidays.

So, currently, i'm waiting what's going on, and i will see later.

Yes,...Not to knock your opinions, they are valid; but its clear (this) group of players decided to all come on this thread and rant on E:D...No problem with this; -It just should be made clear to all the other readers what is happening.

OK., Its certainly a 'Hijack' of an anouncment, but knock yourselves out...,continue.

Ok. I guess my expectations are just a bit lower seeing as I understand what goes into making a game; somewhat understand it as when I look at the file structure of this one, I just shake my head in amazement. I've always been of the opinion to truly appreciate something you have to actually do it. Cooking, for example. To truly appreciate the food you have to actually cook food. Or you have to play music to truly appreciate it. Just my opinion, of course. But I've written code before; oh, nothing of this complexity, but I understand that sometimes a bug is found and you look at the code and look at the code and look at the code and are going, "What in the holy **** is going on here? Code looks good, but there is clearly a mistake somewhere. And you just don't see it. I've seen 2 and 3 people look at such a problem and they started to think it might just be hardware, but all the HW Diags report no problem. Bugs like that do happen and it is extremely frustrating.
