Nice!! So if I lose my last SRV, I might still make it to Beagle?
This is the premise of my help wanted thread Cmdr
I have no SRV, I have no cargo bay...but I am still able to get jumponium with a little help (ok, a lot)....could shoot it myself if I had a laser

Not that I have either, but can you shoot rocks on planets with any old laser or does it have to be a mining one?
Hmm...I haven't seen mention that they have to be mining lasers.
Do SRVs have mining lasers or do they shoot ships and rocks with the same ones?

Just watched Erimus' video again...he uses pulse lasers from his ship to destroy the rocks.

I use a rail gun on rocks these days. Looks spectacular to the rock rat spotter down there in his SRV... especially in the oculus rift

Scooped some mats with the Hauler just now, works great. Olivia took a great photo of how close to the ground the ship gets to do it

Commander Frawd, i'm heading to WP3, right now prospecting Traikaae TT-Y c14-8 (1200 Ly from Omega Nebula, 400Ly from WP2).

Keep in mind that i'm trying to stay ahead of the main fleet because i will not flying my Asp during the second week of February (real life duties), and my "Death and Gravity" have only 33Ly of Jump range. I've already collected all the mats needed for the last leg of the expedition to Beagle Point, them i'm glad to help anyone finding Jumponium.

Well since my offer of help my situation has changed.
I also now need enough standard shots of Jumponium to get to Beagle with at 25Ly ship rather than the 34Ly ship I had yesterday...
This does not change my offer, I will still absolutely help out, but I will be prospecting for two.
On the plus side, the showers in the Clipper are a lot nicer than the showers in the Anaconda.

Has it been confirmed that we can find ore from our ships or do we need an SRV to locate it ?
I know we don't have the scanner in the ship, I meant flying low on the off chance of spotting ore, just wondered if we need an SRV to create the "ore instance" ?
You can spot the rocks from the ship, if you fly low enough. They won't show as a target though, you need to know what to look for. Much easier to find them in an SRV.
I had assumed (from watching the videos) that you needed an SRV "spotter" to find them. In my case the spotter also has to shoot the rocks.
