How do you feel about the 2 weeks exclusivity period?

No harm done Stu, it was free for all. I was after an NPC and you started on me as I was busy. I actually like the fact I was able to find you to get a few shots into you before I exploded. I came back to even the score but got a different instance, I didn't see one person. I think I got your shields down before I went up.

It's people like you writing posts about people keeping this thread and argument going that keep this thread and argument going. People should refrain from posting in threads like that that they don't agree with and stop keeping artificially alive arguments that aren't going anywhere by taking the high-horse and telling people to stop keeping those arguments going.

Obviously posts telling people not to write posts about people not posting are fine and are addressing an issue and not just agreeing with Jezzah.

Posts telling people not to write posts telling people not to write posts about people not posting will be taken as a step in the satirical direction one too far.

Accusations of not taking this issue seriously anymore because of Alphan Status and monocle polishing are welcomed.

I was *this* close to accusing you of repeating yourself ;) :D

PS : I for one really do not care, we'll all get our turn at some point, the same is true of many things in life.

Only gripe I have is giving us Premium Beta people 1.1 atm. Whats the point..we are after all testers but what we have been given to test hasn't already been well thrashed out and fixed.

We should have A3.1 atm so we can pickup anything that the Alphas missed when moving onto A3.4 ..double check if you like, and still gives those who paid £200 instead of £100 that edge but come on £100 is no small offering and in comparison to any other game beta is bloody generous considering their usually free LOL..Id like to feel I was contributing to the development looking for the "missed" bits and the real fine tuning....not being left to dig around in the bottom of the bin.

If you're asked to test those SP missions, then you test them. Bugs creep in from build to build, and right now you're being given the chance to test those SP missions and report bugs or problems you're having with your hardware/software setup....

You'll be testing MP stuff soon enough.

In essence though, stop moaning, please!!

Don't care about MP, just would like to be able to plug in joystick that actually works fully as was fixed in A3 so can fly straight.

It wasn't given to Premium Beta people for the purposes of testing. More like "Thanks for waiting during the extended Alpha, here's a little something for you to pass the time with while we finish up". A lot of people did suggest giving the singleplayer Alpha 1 to Premium beta people so that's what they did.

Yes, I imagine there wouldn't be a load of thread with ed of Alpha testers after that...

Would also be pointless, if the Alpha testers missed a bug in 3.1 and it's still present in 3.4 they'll find it there.

The Premium Beta isn't far off. Just be happy we got anything to play around with at this point, FD did not have to give us access to anything before the Beta was ready.

Well you didn't mention that being your reason, did you?

I've been using my Wingman since Alpha 1.0, not had any problems with it... but keep in mind that the next build you'll be getting will be proper beta testing (Alpha 4.0 essentially). I don't think this SP release to beta testers is the start of beta testing at all....

Very true though reading other posts seem to now be a lot of frustrated beta testers that wouldn't have been if hadn't of let us have a dabble..nice to know that the issues with 1.1 are fixed though and good to have a date of May 30th to look forward too.

I believe the SP Combat Missions are current build version!??
(Please confirm this FD!)
Not some old bone. Just not the full MP.
There are likely STILL reportable issues with platforms, devices AND the scenarios themselves. FD didn't just placate you, they gave Prem. Betas what they asked for! ("At least give us the SP Combat Missions") and I suspect not an older version either as Devs don't usually do that. Old versions have bugs they've fixed. Why field tickets/complaints on stuff already FIXED?!

Of course, I may just be spouting misinformation as I haven't installed the PB I upgraded yesterday. YMMV

No the single player build is alpha 1.2 and the reason for giving premium beta people access is to let them get used to the single player before they get the full premium beta build. We also thought it would be a nice thing to do.

Def says Alpha 1.1, joysticks don't register properly and multiscreen is not working..sounds like the original 1.1 to me and not an SP version of 3.1/3.4

Sadly Michael, it's not pleased everyone.... :/

It's not. If we ignore the version number and Alpha-1 text in the menu there are other things which makes it easy to tell it's actually is Alpha 1.1. As an easy example we know that support for multiple monitors and input devices have both been improved quite a bit in Alpha stages 2 and 3, none of these improvements are in what was released to Premium Beta people.

In other words, what was released to Premium Beta people is indeed the old Alpha 1.1 (several months old), just something for us to play with in the remaining time until Premium Beta starts.

EDIT:
Ah, ninjad by Michael :p

I agree it was very nice to release it. Let us get a bit of hands on with. Might just upgrade to Alpha (assuming the store starts giving upgrade discounts again).

I think it was nice too.

Very much so, a great idea.

And we appreciate it but can be a tad frustrating and to many who are less tech minded could even be off putting.

Sadly this is the price of getting pre-release software, it's not finished, polished, and can be downright ugly.

All the problems are good to identify now whether by a beta or alpha person. Resolved now makes the game better. A better game means more people buy it. More people buy it means more future content. More future content makes me (at least) happy.

LOL nm, no need to be so defensive but would have been nice to have a SP build to play with that had such basic bugs already ironed out then we could enjoy chasing those ships rather than fighting the controls and peering through a letterbox...either way even 1.1 looks awesome...and after waiting 30 years well what is a few more weeks so if any of my comments have offended anyone then sorry. Easiest thing to do is just put the folder away until May 30th :)

It is just a test though, so really there's no playing :p

I've spent most of the alpha with crashing to desktop, lag, stuck on loading screen, etc etc... I've probably only had about 30 mins of testing in one go without a problem.

Software testing, by it's nature, is more suited to those who know what to do with a computer and understand how to feed information back that'll help the developers. If anyone thought it would be an early access to the fully functioning and bug free game came to the wrong party ;)

I'd say do what you can to test, be that using keyboard or mouse etc, and report any odd stuff to FD!

I will add though that I'd have thought FD would have released the latest alpha build with multi-player disabled.... they're in for a lot of bug reports that have already been fixed.....
