it also didn't look like any artifact caused by black holes I've ever seen.

Any chance you could spend a minute or two updating the spreadsheet with your findings?

kinda unrelated but related...
Is there a shadowplay or xbox Win10 app equivalent that will record ED in borderless mode (instead of fullscreen mode)? AFAIK, both of those require ED to be in fullscreen mode, but I prefer to run in borderless because it makes alt-tab much faster when I want to pull up the forum or eddb during hyperspace. Fullscreen takes several precious seconds to switch.
I know what you're going to say... get a 2nd monitor.
It's a well known glitch. I've observed it a few times myself.

Yep. I've been hanging around Nebulae for a couple of weeks now. The dark side (Ooooh!!!) of planets are now lit by the Nebula.
Here's one from the Flame Nebula (adjusted for max Contrast)

mh ok, think nebulas are a bit different to the light from a sun then?I couldn't say for objects in space, the picture i posted was taken on a planet's surface deep inside B'sLoop (Trapezium Sec.YT-A...) so i'd blame the nebula for the colors. But it definitely works for any planet there. I'm quite sure i remember other nebulaes doing the same color-wise.

Did he go to Essex Heaven?
Hey fellow Barnacle hunters, i would just like to compare a thing, i was wondering how long you guys tend to search a candidate, until you feel confident you can move on to the next.
...
I usually tend to go around the planet once trying to find obvious terrain features - canyons and such, and/or coloring as well. I then go about searching each area identified earlier for about 15-20ish minutes - depending on size, before i move on.
If this has already been discussed, then I am sorry because I've missed it.
The UA's point to Merope and admittedly that's where the first Barnacle was found, but all the other discoveries have been in a different system. There has not been any more discoveries on Merope.
You would think that if its the Barnacles that are important to the UA's they would pointing to Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2, and if its not the Barnacles that's important what is?
I feel like I'm missing something, what's Bob?I'm afraid that Bob is no longer in the game![]()
I never feel confident. Even spending an hour searching I'd argue that there's a, 90% chance I missed any barnacles that were there. Try blind searching one of the known planets and see if you find anything in an hour.
My method is about the same as yours, though. On greenish worlds I've come to the conclusion that I can't find a damned thing from more than about two clicks up. I'm starting to think that even looking on those blindly is a complete waste of time.
Do try and populate the spreadsheet with searched planets, though. Might as well try and reduce the amount of repeats.
I feel like I'm missing something, what's Bob?
i don't think there is any Confirmed relationship between the UA and Barnacle. At this point I think it's really still just wild speculation and the distinct rustle of tin foil
