So we keep the two different versions? Sure, I can see both in my Steam games list, but I thought things would all be put together. And that doesn't seem to be the case as it is now.
The store page for Elite Dangerous: Horizons has been removed. Clicking on the Discussions and Community Guides, available when you have Elite Dangerous: Horizons selected in the Library, causes the default store page to be displayed.
When I check the Elite: Dangerous entry in my Library, I see the ED : Horizons Season Pass added as a DLC. But as said, that does not lead me to have access to Horizons through this game link. This should get fixed.

You also paid for at least a couple months worth of gameplay before your friend (or more, depending on when he/she actually buys or if you played the game before Horizons). Playing the game earlier, rather than waiting to play later, also has an important value that you need to factor in.

Beta is currently not available to purchase. Players that have beta access through a previous product will still be able to access. We will be invesitgating opportuities for people to purchase beta again in the future.
Hmm I question this to please. So I have both games on steam and I always open horizons to play.
1 / will I still have the option to play horizons via steam from my installed games list?
2/ If not opening elite dangerous from installed games on steam will this log me into horizons?
This is important as I will not have a lot of time to play later and done want to spend play time trying to work this out.
Tomorrow I intend to copy my key bindings and hud colour files. Then uninstall both steam games. Then re-install. This should clear some space and make it more clean.

Q: So you pull out Horizons DLC, add S3 DLC and the same with Deluxe except name will remain same? Could you please give more light on this because people will ask (and we answer on different forums).
So let's say I'm on Steam, it's Dec 2016 and Elite Dangerous: Clouds Unleashed has just arrived:
Scenario 1: I have ED now, skipped Horizons and want to buy S3. I guess Horizons won't be in shop anymore and buying S3 will get me both seasons?
Scenario 2: I have Deluxe edition bought summer 2016 (ED + H) and now I want S3. I guess I buy S3 DLC. Won't this be "a problem" since people already "have" deluxe edition in library and store page now says Deluxe comes with S3?

This is what I was getting at. If you stated that all DLC will be included in the Deluxe Edition, therefore buying it now would be cheaper than buying the LEP when it was offered. Now, unless you bundle it differently, with a new bundle, I would not have a problem with this at all. But since you stated all the DLC would be added to the Deluxe Edition, that's a slap to those who bought the LEP in Beta and after before it was pulled from the store on September 14th, 2015.
I take it Xbox is still excluded from this
please do... I am expecting to delete both games and do a clean install just don't want to spend time finding the bindings and hud files as don't want to reset these

You clearly don't understand.
The CURRENT Deluxe bundle includes ED and Horizons.
As new Seasons are released, the bundle will be updated to include those new Seasons, but I'm pretty sure the PRICE of it will go up as well.
You don't expect Frontier to sell all the Seasons for the current Deluxe price, do you?
I am hesitating to uninstal it.
I think ED-H pass lead you to DLC and instal ED-H.
Which lead you to have both games with ED launcher and ED-H launcher
Both can start ED-H.
Im talking about Steam only.

Well uninstalled ED-H (Local) on Steam and i am still able to get into ED-H with ED launcher in Steam.
- ED-H is updated in ED folder of Steam.
- Desktop shortcut do not launch the correct client, stilll to ED only.
You can re-create a desktop shortcut with right-mouse button on the launcher in Steam folder.
But it is not recognized as Steam Game in friend list if you use that shortcut.
