Trying to justify team spawn point camping with some pathetic line of sophistry is laughable.

The forums here are generally a friendly place and yet this thread is totally toxic which isn't surprising when we consider whos involved in this gimmick.

If you want to engage in low down behaviour in game then that's your business but please spare us the veiled recruitment drive.

This seems about flexing ones e-peen and self promotion than anything else. You know, if you four think you are so wonderful why the need to group attack semi defenceless players spawning in ?

Pathetic!

Griefers will always find (what in their head is an excusable reason) an excuse to grief, be it : It's Alpha or It's Beta, or some voice in my head told me to do it, or........ list goes on.

But a griefer will always be a griefer, so you 4 chaps have probably made the top of ban lists when they get introduced, anyway for now, /14 on virgins! will do

can we all please settle down. we injected some much needed zap into the alpha phase, anything goes, call it what you like, it was a one-off.

its an alpha, do what you like, none of it is real its just a test.

everyone should calm, we aren't going to do that in the final game or anything near to the final game, the station and its defence force should (and will in time) destroy us with ease.

Not you again? :p

Edit .... No, absolutely no need to reply!!! zzzz :D

Yeah, from the reaction it seems people were really looking for something like this from you whacky guys and they absolutely loved it. Oh... wait...

That made me chuckle. :D

I believe there was a big dog fight arranged in the past on these forums?...I'm sure I remember reading about it...maybe I just imagined it, but anyway if they had went along those lines.......I'm sure it would've been received better.

But the *herp derp* nature of it's presentation just went down like a lead balloon.

He has every right to his opinion.. but it certainly wasn't developed after any "real" experience in dealing with veterans in the PC industry like the people I value and speak with on Gen Han Solo's TS server on a weekly basis..

Am I remembered on there? Of course I am.. so can I speak authoritatively on this? Of course I can -

Mainly because as a regular visitor, I am helpful and social to everyone who comes to visit, and if Mobius was a real man, he would at least try to speak with Han Solo or one of us about his issues rather than spreading his viral spew in form of doubts about other people, where he himself claims little to no experience dealing with..

So, there you have it folks.. his authority comes from his one time visit..

Maxim you have such a high opinion of yourself over others.
After hearing you berate myself and other users on the one occasion I did visit your chosen TS server and talk down to us on how one should use teamspeak, I found it enough to ensure that I never visit your chosen server ever again, I wonder why you push your chosen TS so much, what other information are you and your friends getting from peoples visits, harvesting data/IP addresses/port scanning I don't know what you get up to and im playing safe buy not exposing my PC to it.

Finally seeing you post the Quote with your own added text.
Quote from complete loser - Mobius.. ...their TS server, which I've been on and will never again return to it..

just enforces everyone's opinion of how you
speak authoritatively on
this matter .

please try and be mature when belittling others as resorting to name calling is very immature.

Let me dig the quote something for you (link is in Alpha) and note the person speaking:

Hello Commander Kroy & company!

Possibly a little clarification is in order:

Currently the game is in alpha, which means not everything is nailed down and issues lurk, waiting to trip us up.

If we ordered everyone to play by the rules then we might never learn about exploits and bugs until it would be too late to do anything about them. Yes it certainly can be annoying to suffer at the hands of exploits, but I'd rather this happen than have commanders not thoroughly testing the game, which I believe would be the risk if we started laying down rules.

After release, we really should have nailed the exploits and bugs, hence our stance will be very different; when discovered, there will be negative consequences for players who attempt to use exploits and bugs instead of reporting them.

On a related but separate track there is the concept of immoral/amoral player behaviour - that is to say, players that are not using an exploit or bug, but are inconsiderate of fellow participants.

The point I was making here is that we don't particularly want a prescribed moral code. If a commander wants to be nasty, we let them, with the caveat that being nasty has significant in-game consequences. It's also why we are looking at a grouping mechanic that allows players to choose their level of social interaction.

However, we don't pretend that our rules work first time, every time (not even Sex Panther can make that claim), which is why we're more than happy for commanders to suggest how the game play might be improved.

I don't agree with griefing - I am not a griefer myself - however I defend these people during Alpha as doing so helps FD work out what to do in preparation for retail. Separate the emotion from the actions and you should see that whilst it's not much fun NOW when you are on the receiving end, come long term you will suffer less.

LOL.. We love the response regardless of how whacky it is, unfortunately not enough new blood (betas) were online to take part.. and so more story driven events will occur in time.. just wait for travel between stations upcoming patch to arrive..

"I can attack anyone at any time, just like everyone else"

* Remember that the game still features NPC response and consequences in the crime system
* Remember that you can still create private/solo groups

"There are some areas of the galaxy where I cannot be attacked by other players"

* This would likely be based around system security (in a highly secure system weapons systems would be blocked and we'd have to modify collision rules)

"I can move between one of two groups: a PvE group or a PVP group"

* This would effectively be splitting the user base
* You could move between the two groups at will
* Any private groups would be sub groups of your chosen group

"I must pick and stay in one of two groups: a PvE group or a PVP group"

* This would effectively be splitting the user base
* The choice would be on a per character basis
* Any private groups would be sub groups of your chosen group

"I cannot attack anyone else, and they can't attack me"

* This is effectively co-op only play

Which sometimes is all you need to know.

Now if we're strutting peacock feathers .. I notice that Mobius and Kerrash were hand picked by FD to attend a prestigious award ceremony recently as ambassadors to Elite .. a very public affair in real life with the cherry on top of meeting DB in person ..

Sorry .. who are you again ?

Oh oh oh ... Ouch! lol :D

You should know we were not sat on the spawn point we were flying the hole sector and giving chase for ships trying to leave the station . We were flying in formation and streaming on twitch . And if possible and the person that was streaming was able to recorde it lets hope he can put a link on latter .

Oo wow you guys created quite a stir today.
the idea is good but maybe looking at the reactions in this tread it should have been announced a bit earlier.

to all who have been swearing and threatening.
these guys are true testers not grievers.
several times I needed help to test , sometimes with difficult situations.
they are the one who help out!
every time and with great patience.
these test are not possible without team speak.
everyone is welcome in these TS channels.
I salute han-solo and kroy for offering these.
keep an open mind guys , if it goes on like this , no-one dares to test anything no more.

if I wasn't working today its highly likely I was involved too.
beside of the busted mic.(so I can't be on TS).

I can see why people get upset, but that's online gaming for you. It's been the same and it won't ever change. As an old EVE player there was a word thrown about for players who enjoyed a more sedate play-style....'Carebears'

Nothing wrong with it, in fact when Elite launches I intend to explore the galaxy and trade....to start with :) but always be aware; where there is an internet connection, a game, and human players, then someone is always going to rock the boat.

Thank you we thought about giving all the players a warning but then their would have bean a full evacuation of the station a lot of commanders and civilians would have bean killed unnecessarily most civilians were saved .

We are sorry you missed the call form the powers that be asking for help in the Blockade .

And I guess it will be interesting the responses gauged by said unsavoury behaviour, and how that is dealt with!
