Scan Detected - Boost...oh cra...

Ever notice how when you do things so many times, you get sloppy? Well, during my last Elite Smuggling missions that laziness and over confidences kicked in.
Coming into a station, I heard the dreaded "Ship Scan Detected" and I hit boost! Problem was, I was inside the station already. Talk about a nerve racking experience.

I decided to use Whitesnake - Here I Go and make another fun video because just uploaded the opps is not as fun, plus it makes me look bad.

Nothing like trying to land your ship with 1% hull.

The biggest problem I had was fighting the damn docking computer. Normally it saves me as I race in, it takes over and slows me down as long as I'm not going too fast. In hindsight I don't know why I didn't just turn off the docking computer in the module screen knowing I'm going to have to get out of this one carefully. Have to love anxiety

Some of my stupidest crashes are due to the docking computer taking over at just the wrong moment. I take full credit for the other 75%.

I think it's supposed to be the aircraft carrier, not the fighter jet. Those are coming later with ship launched fighters

I did almost the same but instead of boost... shoot it in the face, quickly shoot it in the face !!
Problem was I was allready closing on station so every security ship and station opened fire on me
I dont know how but I survived the encounter with 2% hull engaged supercruise and went back to hand in the smuggling mission and to repair [big grin]

I do a lot of phone conferences, so I got a couple of headsets around (one on the phone, one on the PC) .

Admittedly, running Whitesnake at the appropriate volume would probably turn a few heads - in which case I'd have to go over to one of the test systems (which incidentally also have better audio systems...).
