Unfortunately, owing to my doctor's decision that I'm a "risky" individual, I will probably never get to drive. :(

And here it goes to die... bummer.

Oh well.

Not at all, there was an existing thread on exactly the same subject in the exact same forum section that you created your thread in i.e. the Off topic section.

It only took me about 10 seconds to find it. :)

Well, I put this in DD originally (as I was intending more conversation about equating personal vehicles to their nearest elite counterpart), but that didn't pan out.

So it was moved to the appropriate section, considering the course of conversation. Since there was already a thread on it in here, it's perfectly fine to merge them.

I'm not complaining, just saying that the post before the merge is from November of last year, and once the link falls off the first page of dangerous discussion, this thread will die again.

Just an observation.

Cheers.

A lot of people consider the car I drive to be a bit chavvy. The wrecks that hang around McD's car parks are. Mine isn't so much....
Not sure what ED ship it would equate to, though.

I have never been one for glamorous rides. Give me simple, utilitarian vehicles and I am quite happy. Plus I don't have any kids which negates the need for more than two doors. ;)

My current ride....2007 Dodge Dakota 3.7L V6 4x4

My last two vehicles which I crunched together and formed into one all around vehicle....

Former daily driver....1995 Chevrolet S-10 2.2L 4cyl

Former snow/farm truck....1993 Dodge Dakota 318ci Magnum V8 4x4

These trucks may explain why I am drawn to utilitarian, multi-role hauler types of ships?

Even my lawn mower is less than glamorous. 1951 Ford 8N. :D

Then again, keeping up with the neighbors isn't a priority out here.

I recently bought a '94 BMW 316ti compact as a beater to bring me to work while my Opel Omega 2,5 DTI is at the workshop, it lost 8 liters of oil in 3 weeks, so i decided to give it to a mechanic to get it repaired... (no, iow oll NOT work on that Diesel engine oil splattered engine compartment at all. Thats why the mechanics get so much money for their job: they can get dirty ;)

pic(s) of the beater:

Maaaan what a rust bucket. Got a new fender already and a new radio and antenna. Also a new(used) drivers seat because the first time i sat in that car at the Dealer the back rest broke and i landed my head on the back seats ;)

you could say i am driving a python usually (omega station waggon) and are now back to an old and rusty viper mk3.

(Btw: the mechanic says that my omega had a clogged crank case vent... and has in turn blown out ALL gaskets on the engine. that repari will cost me about 3500 eur... for a car thats woth about 1800 eur... *sigh, i _do_ have an affection for it, so it gets reparired. There goes my complete salary of the next two months :-(... )
