Powerplay Prismatic Shields might be removed from the game soon

This is neither a bug nor an exploit, but a useful mechanic which is necessary for Powers who try to remove their deficit-causing systems from their books. In fact, it is a Power's only means to enter a state of 'controlled turmoil' and SCRAP the deficit causers.

It is also an unfair mechanic, as only 9 out of 10 powers have the option of using it.

I think they should be removed. If the power is no longer there, they cannot continue producing them. Maybe those engaging in destroying us will have some food for thought when that happens...
Well, Von Braun belonged to the losing side in WW2, he still sent people to the moon for the Americans.

An entire PP reset? I guess some people just want to see the forum burn

Thank you! :D

Hello Commanders!

To clarify, should any power be ddefeated completely and removed from Powerplay then Commanders would no longer have access to their special modules. Of course, those who already owned them would not lose them.

On the off chance that Sandro might be reading this: IIRC from the PowerPlay manual that was released with 1.3, a Power that is removed from PP is not entirely removed from the game, but rather demoted to the status of "minor faction", is that correct? Would that mean that if that minor faction were to get enough support in expanding into new systems that it could eventually regain it's status as a power, thus making the corresponding Power specific equipment available again?

Oh noooo!
Please don't do that!
That is to take away fun!

But thank you for clarifying. :)
Though I sincerely hope you will reconsider, my friend. [yesnod]

If only we really could get rid of the Plastic Princess. Karma for all the recent "abolitionist" mockeries where Imp Slave Trade actually increased instead of decreased. Lol. #RP

Anyone who wants to do RP would not call her a "plastic princess". :)

Also, where did Aisling increase Imperial Slaves trade?

Its been almost a year and not a single power has been knocked out of the running. I don't see FD starting now. Powerplay is sooo static its not funny. Occasionally systems change hands... woo hoo.... the odd system is lost, the odd system is gained.... woo hoo.

About as interesting to keep an eye on the happenings of the powers as watching paint dry.

Static?

The guy who was hyped to be the next big thing in the Empire is now at #9 and has been the only power to have more than clearly been in a position of ought to having collapsed.
Antal was considered a playground and now they are contesting for a prosperous future within PP.
Torval who would have been the undisputed #2 if EIC kept going found herself in shambles for many cycles and almost instantly after EIC left. Now her supporters are picking up the pace again.
And Hudson/Winters vs ALD is a constant struggle on who will slip up and have a bad week that only makes it harder the week after.

It is quite interesting to watch when you actually get to understand what's going on long-term really.

What does it matter if he is at number 9? Does it matter if he is at number 10? As i recall, being number 1 (and 2 and 3?) nets you some bounses, but its not like that it matters so much.

Powerplay map looks pretty similar to how it was a year ago. Powers rise, powers fall, but its all just like tides. Tide goes in, tide goes out, you can't explain that :p

Well, there's the whole debate on whether PP actually made a difference in Arissa becoming Emperor I guess.

But what do I know about that. Mahon still hasn't been recognized as the most successful politician this galaxy has ever seen yet, nor has the Alliance acquired everything for the overwhelming success we've had.

Who knows, maybe if the Empire or the Federation was #1 things would be different and we're just giving FD a hard time pushing the narrative they'd like.

Powerplay needs work; it's stagnant and there's really no value actually doing any of it; the amount of credits it offers hasn't really kept pace in the slightest, and that weekly reduction rate is just obscene. Virtually all powerplay occurs in solo (as this is the single most efficient and effective way to support or undermine, including others, or your own) meaning that swings can occur and apart from at best stalemating a process, it cannot be stopped.

It could have been something cool; but apart from people finding creative new ways to see how they can just outright bust it, or break powers; there's zero value or purpose or point. And the latter is really "wouldn't it be sneaky if we could .." rather than something the thing actually encourages or rewards.

People invent ways to pretty much not go crazy.

He's the most successful politician in the Galaxy because he doesn't have any kind of opposition, which is crazy, considering that Alliance should be by nature the faction with the least clear leadership and the biggest opposition in it.

That is the impression you get from hanging out too much on the reddits, trying to get a grasp of what's actually going on, because the in-game tools are quite underdeveloped.

My suggested fix would be to make the current "leaders" of the reddits/forums "Game Masters" in Powerplay and give them the final word on actions of the power.
They put a lot of effort into this part of the game and have no tools whatsoever to deal with the clowns and underminers that join their faction.

How you imagine it doesn't make it true though.

And we're not the Empire to be infighting for power.

And yet you have an untouchable leader with nobody wanting to be the number one? I don't think so. You are union of independent systems, you should be full of different political parties.
