What's with these Wedding Barges?

Divorce Barge. Could be a thing in the future, who knows? :)

Wouldn't have enough money after a divorce to hire a barge... maybe a slinking-off-into-the-dark-Sidewinder-with-the-lights-off... or maybe a tearing-off-into-the-dawn-Sidewinder-with-the-roof-down... dependent on perspective/guilt perhaps :)

Everytime i see one of those i imagine a rich couple of excentrics marrying in space,
since they never left the pull of gravity before.
*shrug*
Mostly ignoring.

It's gotten to the point that I just murder them then pay off the bounty when I can.
Especially the ones where the groom says      like "I don't know if I can go through with this"
JUST         DO IT.

Oh come on now! What bride would willing have her wedding on a barge in space?

Clearly, you've never met a Martian gal from one of the ring cities of the capital.

Better be ready to open up your pocket book for one of the most expensive trade themed parties ever.

Proof men evolve very slowly LOL

Even in the year 3300 we're still whipped enough to give up a life on the galactic rim in a fast fancy ship raking in the credits in exchange for setting up roots on farmland homestead on an agricultural world :) The days of bounty hunting long behind... trading a sidearm and a boundless sky for a rake and lawnmower within the bounds of a white picket fence.

Then again, there is the possibility to settle for the purpose of cultivating Onionhead...

Yes, I'm married and a hypocrite. Haha.

When I pull the trigger I tell myself I am sparing him years of misery

Hello!
I made up a relatively simple answer for myself concerning the purpose of the wedding barges: Someone has to "make" all the bad guys i/we kill in every other system, and a wedding is a normal procedure in almost all known organized and civil societies in the galaxy (and yes, i even count the Imperium as an organized and civil society for this purpose...) that usually results in new "bad guys".
Hope this helps a little :)

Hm, the only ever thing I observed about the Wedding Barge scenario (after following into its LowWake) was this :

- Orca is asking to form a Formation
- "friends of the Bride" on the left, "friends of the best man" on the right if I remember correctly
(Ship will keep repeating the request until Formation is achieved)

...but as soon as this is done, it'll just Hyperjump off.
