Title: CIMA prepares for final sprint
Location: Galnet
Time: As soon as possible
Text:
In a recent announcement of the Carmack Intergalactic Mining Association, chief engineer Maxim ”VicTic” Kammerer spoke to the contributors of the CIMA prospectors competition: “ We are very proud that with your help we were nore than able to double the amount of known pristine metallic ring locations. Most of the new systems were found very close to the bubble. So far we reached a combined price amount of over 92 million credits. Thank you very much for your effort. But now we need to prepare for the final sprint.”
The competition will end on 3rd of April. All relevant systems need to be reported to pristine-metallic.rocks within this time.

From looking at the links I'm pretty sure that's a bug :)

Oh I know, it just was too interesting not to poke at, and you could use it to lead into a short story arc with it to introduce FSD misjumps when those get implemented in the game, basically use the investigative results as a more or less a dramatic way of saying "hey FSD malfunctions are still a thing, and this is kind of a worst case scenario with a whole station getting partially shifted".

Speaking of.

DATE: Publish around the same patch that FSD malfunctions get introduced.

TITLE: Independent Investigation into “ghost” stations Concludes.

DESCRIPTION: Earlier this year reports surfaced of a so called “ghost” station appearing in various sectors of inhabited space accompanying a generic distress signal. After a thorough investigation it has been determined the “ghost” station was a partially frame-shifted station that had begun to drift erratically.
With the assistance of Sirius Corporation, Pilots federation tugs were able to safely bring the station back into phase and tow it back into position. Out of respect for the privacy of the station and its inhabitants, it’s name and location are being withheld from press at this time.

Investigator J.E. Hardy had this to say; “Based on data recorders recovered, and statements made by station personnel it seems what happened was a smuggler bypassed several of their ships key FSD safeties and attempted to make a jump while skimming less than a meter from the surface of the station, resulting in the near total destruction of their ship and a partial shift of the station itself. Sirius Corp has asked me to pass on a statement that they take no responsibility for improper use of their proprietary technology and request that pilots follow all safety protocols when operating a ship as that reduces the likelihood of mis-jumps and other frameshift accidents by 99.99%”

Title: Diplomatic Summit in Alioth

Text:

A Summit for the Alliance of Independent Systems was hosted at Alioth's Irkutsk Station over the past week, attended by ambassadors and diplomatic envoys from a varied array of political backgrounds. Eleven fleets were represented, from both Alliance and independent governments.

In the words of one attache, "I've never seen much need for Feds, Imperial, or Alliance. But they’re looking helpful to the Indies, so I’m glad I made the trek."

It was a momentous occasion, where contrasting politics found common ground to discuss a framework for a quick response force, deemed necessary to protect all parties from the growing threat of Imperial and Federal expansion. The historic accord was host to a number of different treaties. Noted topics at the summit were faction sovereignty, mutual assurance of self-governance, benefits of increased free-trade, and the importance of communication as a means to maintain civility across a landscape of diverse cultures.

TITLE: Cerberus Plague Past and Present

DESCRIPTION:
Carl Simmons, Chief Medical Officer of Newton Dock in BD-02 4304, spoke at a health summit over the weekend. His keynote address was on the topic of the Cerberus Plague.

Simmons concluded with these thoughts:

“Within a month, the original Cerberus Plague spread to over 30 systems, putting billions of lives at risk. At such a rate of infection, even with quarantines in place, it is unlikely we would have been able to eradicate the disease had the cure been discovered much later. The cure, Ceremonial Heike Tea, would not have been available in sufficient quantities. Trillions could have perished.”

“We cannot afford to underestimate this new strain of the Cerberus Plague. I urge the medical community to take this new outbreak of Cerberus seriously. If Heike Tea is not delivered in sufficient quantities, or if this strain proves resistant to the tea’s effects, the consequences could be catastrophic.”

Good stuff, glad some post is going out there regarding the new strain of Cerberus. To hit tier 1 i calculate, help and attension will be needed.

One point i would of added that i've been thinking of, Since Cerberus was wiped out last time, as usual samples were sent to labs to prevent future outbreaks.
It was like wiping out smallpox, now these samples were i assume taken to sol and archenar or Empire and Fed Labs.

The abduction of Pallin needing a Cap ship and also infected with a modified cerberus , we need to check who has had access to the laboratory samples at both empire and fed places of storage.

Title: Another Big Haul from SE Mining

Body:
Dr. Lewis Chapman recently mobilized the mining department of his corporation and sent them en mass to the Varati system to help the Canonn group construct a new research facility.

He was quoted saying,
"I am very excited about this project as I am a big fan of the Canonn group. Although my field does not cover extra terrestrial research, I am at heart a scientist and as such I am eager to help the galaxies foremost research group in any way I can."

SE Mining made the long journey to Varati where they rendezvoused and organized their strategy. Prospectors quickly found a pristine metallic ring in a nearby uninhabited system and SE Mining got on with doing what they do best.
Due to a statistical oversight early on in the operation nearly 300 tons of palladium were sadly lost but our tenacious commanders were not put off their work.
The SE Mining department managed to contribute over one thousand tons of palladium to the Canonn. a record haul for them and a testament to what can be achieved by even a small group of dedicated pilots.

Title:The White Templar's withdrawing from the Pegasi sector

Observers have seen the White Templar battle fleet jumping out of the Pegasi sector! Rumors that they have done a deal with the Kumo abound, however just days before a coded transmission was intercepted this was sent from deep space to the Templar enclave at Baal.
This transmission could only have come from one of the Templar explorers on the Distant Worlds expedition, all I can find out is that the code used is the Grand Master Templar personal cipher. My sources within the enclave have gone very quiet to the point of avoiding contact.
Is this a coincidence, the Templar battle fleet jumping away from the Kumo battles, at the same time as this mysterious transmission? I for one cannot answer that, only the Grand Master and the Master Templar's seem to know what is happening and they are being very quiet.
What is so important that this message can cause such action!

Title:The White Templar's withdrawing from the Pegasi sector

The White Templar battle fleet retreated without warning last week from the Pegasi system, according to local witnesses.
Some observers believe the White Templars may have reached an agreement with the Kumo Crew. However, a coded transmission was allegedly intercepted earlier this week that could contradict this rumour.
An anonymous source reached out to Interstellar Press:
''The signal has originated from one of the Templar explorers on the Distant Worlds expedition, but my sources within the enclave have gone dark. This transmission used the Grand Master's personal cipher, therefore its destination must have been the Templar enclave at Baal.
Is this a coincidence, the Templar battle fleet jumping away from Kumo systems at the same time as this mysterious transmission? Only the Master Templars seem to know what is happening, and they are being very quiet.''

Title: Tick tock, Pic Tok

Description: Ever since a glut of Unidentified Artefact sales to Lobachevsky Outpost caused the loss of most services, it’s become a malfunctioning "ghost town". Residents of this sleepy outpost, in the Pic Tok system, are accustomed to a hardscrabble life.... but few expected the loss of utilities, communication, and market services would continue for (nearly) 3 months. Local officials fear a descent into anarchy if help (especially meta-alloys) doesn't arrive soon. To quote one disgruntled miner: "The void take Eravate! Why should I pay my taxes when SINC can't even keep the lights on?" Unscrupulous merchants may capitalize on this angst; attempted sales of counterfeit meta-alloys at the (partially-restored) commodities market have been reported.

- Title – Sacra Oculus Denies Involvement In Spreading Cerberus Plague
- Description –

The Cerberus Plague which ended the lives of over 100,000 innocent victims and which took nearly three months to eradicate during the second half of 3301 was not a natural disease but was in fact a weaponized bacteria, research scientists revealed at the United Institute For Diseases at Greenstein Silo in the Achenar system. Imperial Security Services which investigated the outbreaks back in 3301 today released declassified documents which implicate a religious Order in the production and distribution of the Cerberus baccilus.

If the allegations contained in the documents are accurate, then the religious order named as Sacra Oculus, a group of ideologues who fled the Federation some one hundred and fifty years previously and found refuge in Empire space, will have some serious questions to answer.

A spokesman for the religious Order denied all involvement but did confirm that weapons production including the production of Nerve Agents are undertaken by the Theocracy and that no connection exists between Sacra Oculus and the now eradicated Blue Hand Gang.

TITLE: How did Cerberus Spread to Orulas?

DESCRIPTION:
With the containment and eradication of the new strain of the Cerberus Plague underway in Nespeleve, the next priority is the prevention of further outbreaks. To prevent additional outbreaks, it is important to know how Cerberus made its way to Orulas, 300 light-years from BD-02 4304, where the Cerberus Plague was first discovered.

Nearly three quarters of the systems infected by Cerberus last year were within a 50 light-year radius of BD-02 4304. Disturbingly, several rare goods hubs hundreds of light-years from BD-02 4304 also contracted the plague.

The current working theory posits that long-range traders carried the disease from one of the infected rare goods hubs, such as 39 Tauri, Altair, and Delta Phoenicis, to Orulas, where the Blue Hand Gang could have been infected.

More disturbingly, we know the Blue Hand dealt with shady pseudo-scientific outfits conducting illegal human experiments. It is possible these experiments may have included Cerberus...

Title: Historic Support for Alliance in Lahasim

Five Alliance factions from around the sector have joined forces in Lahasim as the local community rejects other major factions. After months of preparation by the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps (AEDC), the Negasta Family concluded its expansion into the system earlier last week, thus becoming its fifth political body pledged to the Alliance.

In a historic display of support for Alliance ideals, the residents of Beaufoy Ring welcomed their new neighbours with open arms. In the words of a citizen: "Out here on the edge of civilisation we all have to help each other - life's tough. It's been great working with AEDC this past month to bring our new friends to Lahasim. The future looks very green for us!"

According to Victoria Wolf, First Merchantress of Wolf 406 and primary sponsor of the AEDC: "This is the latest milestone in our Fringe Development Programme. Our long term mission is to provide political and logistical support to those systems on the edge of civilisation, to help them prosper."

If Lahasim is anything to go by, support for the Alliance is steadily growing at the edge of the populated bubble.

Why would a story about a lowly populated system be relevant to Alliance-leaning commanders?

Well, it's now the only system I am aware of, apart from Alioth, that only has Alliance factions. As you can see in this imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/HA0Wk

Unless I'm mistaken, this means the system cannot switch to any other major faction, or become independent, without a new faction expanding into it.

This is the result of a months-long experiment by the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps to see if it was even possible, through expansions, to reach such a "safe" state. From what I understood, the choice of Lahasim was not an accident, as this was a remote location unlikely to be contaminated by player activity.

This story attempts to highlight the uniqueness of the situation, while celebrating the hard work and dedication that made it possible.

For these reasons, I believe this story deserves to be published locally in the suggested systems.
