Lets Talk Engineers, what ship do you want to modify?

I know we don't have all the information regarding engineers, but, if you could use your imagination, what ship would you like to modify and how would you modify it. The only limitation is that your hull size must stay the same size and you cannot add significant weight to the ship.

For me, I would modify the FDL, the reason I would pick the FDL is because the looks of the ship :) I use to be a clipper / cutter guy, but since I reset my game, I'm more a FDL guy... I know this is not the popular opinion, but I like the luxury killer look, and I'm ok with being an odd ball! The glass moon roof, is also VERY nice looking. Is it the bedroom? If so, it reminds me of guardian of the galaxy when he forgets there is a girl on the ship :)

1) I would drop 2 utility mount A Shield boosters and save 7T's of weight.
2) I would use the 2T' of the 7T's to add one size 1 internal compartment so that I could add a DSS to the ship.
3) I would use the other 5T's to up size the fSD to size 5.

My intent is to increase the utility of the ship.

I don't think modifications are going to work that way. It's more like an engineer can modify a specific hardpoint; i.e. giving you a blue laser that maybe increases thermal damage at the cost of heat. Or modifying your FSD to allow greater range at the cost of more fuel.

Yes, actually CMDR Thrust from Bradford has been playing 2.1 Engineers for quite some time. I'm still downloading it myself, but CMDR Thrust from Bradford has already modified a Federal Corvette and is complaining that the Engineers don't have enough hair.

I'd love to tweak my python's jump range by a few Ly, by increasing the max fuel on jump limit. It would make it a bit more suited for exploration ! :)

I will modify all and any ship.

My intent is to make them better or worse.

For now I'll not tell you how I modify each ship, because... reasons :x

Would've really liked to talk about it, however nobody has any idea in what shape or form the ship/weapons/modules customization will be. We have FDEV to thank for that sharing absolutely zero information on basic mechanic changes in their buythisgameletters.

My corvette to get a bit more jump range, 15 lys would be a dream, and my eagle to make it a bit more competitive.
In reality I'll mod all of them, just to have them different from stock.
