How can I jump to out of reach systems

Hi all,

I'm about to embark on my explorer journey in my DB Explorer but am at a loss at how to go about jumping to systems that have no known course plots as it can't be calculated. I can target it bit how can i get to it?

Can anyone give me some direction. Much appreciated.

I'm not sure if i understand well, but the router in the galmap has a limit of 1000 ly. If you are trying to go further, you need to do several 1kly trips in the direction you want to go, ie select an intermediate systems on the way to your objective at less than 1kly, jump there, and then start again.

If the destination is longer than your FSD range, e.g. your jump range is 32 ly and the target is 35 ly, you will need to use a boost. If you don't have Horizons expansion, you wont be able to reach it.

Just make smaller plots. I went below the galactic plane and couldn't plot more than about 100~200 LY at a time

if it is out of your plot-able range (jumprange with full tank), plot a course close to it.

then either use jumponium, or, after you have burned the fuel you need to burn, select the system in galaxy map directly (yellow pin!), don't plot a course. if you have select it in that way, and your jumprange is enough low on fuel, you can jump to it.

Try not filling your tanks up - fuel costs jump range. I screwed up today and had to burn off fuel until I could plot a jump back as it was a dead end system I made the mistake of scooping on arrival - Doh!

Squirt magic fairy dust in your injectors, make sure you have two shots so you can get back!

When running on low fuel trim make sure to check the star types - ie ones you can scoop especially when jumping at the limit of your ships range.

And some stars down in the basement simply are to far out of range for my DBX using various methods (probably where the Thargoids are kicking back their heels!)

That is interesting... The system I wanted to jump to was only 320LY away but it was out of the cluster. I could select it but as my DBX can only jump 25LY with my load out and there was no calculated course plot instead a direct line to the system, I couldn't jump to it even though my nav MFD stated the 15 jumps to the destination.

you may have had the system targeted and your FSD was attempting to jump directly to the system 320 LY away. You can go in to controls settings if you have not already done this under the targeting section and select "target next system in route" This allows you to resume your plotted route if you ever have something else targeted with one easy key click.

This is also a fast easy way to resume your course after targeting stars, planets, etc for detailed surface scans.

Hope that helps :)

Awesome, thanks for that Space Monkeyz.. Oh I finally had the nerve to purchase an Asp Explorer and will slowely kit it out. :)

I am thinking of getting out there soon too. Is there a guide with some cool jump routes? I was thinking a 950ly jump plot for an idiot from sol?

your welcome. I forgot to add that it is not a bound key but you can bind it to a key(I bound mine to my keyboard, the period key) LOL I was tired when I wrote that message.

Enjoy the Asp Explorer, I am currently 62,000 LY from Sol and it has served me well :)

Can you possibly advise what your load out is for you Asp X?

Thanks all. I do notice that some systems are disabled in the setup. Just wondering specifically why the shields have been disabled.
