Your Questions Needed - Join the Elite Tutorial Livestream - Everything You Need to Know About Powerplay

Hello,
Are there going to come some changes in relationships between the powers?

Why should I care about PowerPlay? What motivations (other than bonuses) do the faction leaders provide? I'm interested in supporting someone who has a vision for the galaxy, relatable motivations, and who provides an engaging story arc for me to follow.

# Support Mac Players

You have tons of backstory for all of them.

Player Groups Becoming powers.

1) Do they have to be Triple Elite groups like Emperor's Grace?
2) How many systems does the Player Group minor faction need to rule for consideration?
3) How much control over the character's story will the Player Group have?

Hey Sandro, thanks for answering questions, good to hear we're not forgotten!

A long time ago we were teased Powerplay decals (back in the trailer). Any word on if they're still planned on being implemented?

Hi Sandro,

Is it true that weekly ranking system (in Powerplay) is decided by a "nearest the bullseye dart competition in a Cambridge backstreet pub on a Wednesday night"?

If not true; any chance you could explain the ranking system a bit.

Sandro,

Will there ever be in game support of Guilds/Player Groups beyond the in game player factions? Once groups are large enough to actually be apart of PP this would be a must need. To accept/reject players into the game faction to easily ID FoF. Like players aligning with current PP Factions. To also send out mass messages to the player base to be seen/heard once they log in, with a notification under the coms tab. NPCs get faction tags. Players should as well.

Its very difficult to support a player group in a game and keep all informed in the group or a APB to all CMDRs. This could increase player count across the board. And create more player driven stories.

I feel this is a big sticking point with the players. And is extremely important to help keep people playing the game. We have been asking for this since the beginning. Player factions is a great start, and this could add to it.

~Thanks for you time,
Killian

Once a Player Group is a PowerPlay faction, the group loses their control of the group....and their Power continues at the whim of the playerbase.

Hello everyone,

Stream is tomorrow 7PM BST

Continuing our tutorial-style deep-dive livestream series, tomorrow we're going to talk with Sandro Sammarco about Powerplay.

Got any questions about Powerplay? Put them in the thread and we'll pull out as many as we can to be answered and discussed tomorrow.

This is a discussion point that Sandro is passionate about, so I recommend jumping on over to watch this one :)

7PM BST! See you there.

Very interesting.
I will put this one in my agenda.
Sandro is always fun.

I just want to know if he can already reveal some future changes.

More questions from Reddit:
  • Sonos: "Do I have to make other powerplay players enemy to me by siding with a faction?"
  • AilosCount: "Currently, Powers don´t really differ that much. While they have different Ethos and lore, all that changes is the name of the fortification thing. As soon (and it was pretty soon) as I realized that there is really no difference between the Powers except the flavor text and bonuses it became much much less interesting. What could/is being done to make the powers more unique their playstyle and overall feeling outside of flavor texts and bonues?"

Q: While there be a mechanic to remove -CC/bad systems, or to selectively target an opponent system to lead to their loss of control?

Q2: Will there be some kind of integration with the BGS?

One last one:
  • CMDR_INTERNET: Why did you invent a third tier political system instead of using minor or major factions for Powerplay? What parallels do "powers" have to any real-life political system? Wouldn't it be better to have the major factions at war, encouraging actual faction loyalty and creating high-stakes outcomes? Right now, Powerplay is about grinding non-sensical challenges in order to affect a political system that doesn't make sense, for rewards that aren't valuable, and that you feel no connection with because you don't even see results for a week.

Good stream. Glad to see Sandro address so many hard questions, especially the ones from Martin. Well done all around, and I'm definitely looking forward to this season's upgrades for PP.

Dammit missed it :(
Can't find it on the YouTube channel - when is it getting posted please?

Scratch that. It just popped up.

So can anyone explain how Archon Delaine has met the conditions for collapsing once, with 1 month without expanding, but Patreus has not, with 3 months without expanding.

It's nonsensical. Noone who knows anything about Power Play was ever afraid about Delaine after seeing Torval's 1 month without expansion go unpunished long before him.

And despite my question getting skipped, a pretty clear answer to it was given, with Mahon not even being mentioned once in the stream. So no, it doesn't seem like our position matters to you. But I hope you can make up excuses for a long time, because that #1 ain't going anywhere else.

A lot of attention was given to make clear that there is no Imperial bias. So what should we call it? "Anti-Alliance Bias"?
