Great article? By that do you mean "embarrassing dirty laundry?" It was a great summary highlighting some fundamental issues with ED and the extreme immaturity of some community members, but that was all that was "great" about it.

This entire "conflict" is a symptom of poor game design, you should be shouting at FD to fix it rather than squabbling amongst one another. Sadly it seems that some of you are so entrenched in your positions that you either refuse to acknowledge it or cannot even see it in the first place, for every well reasoned post in this thread there are multiple that are simply mind numbing.

Personally I am taking time out of the game at the moment awaiting further development and complexity in the game mechanics. To be honest though even if the game gets developed to the point that it closely resembles the original kickstarter pitch and DDF documents, I'm not sure I would want to come back and be a part of this community... It's pathetic.

For me the use of the music was distasteful, decent people were paraded and killed to similar strains by the lowest form of human life on the planet (which is saying something these days) and as for SDC, so what ? They had their little chuckles and disappeared back of to obscurity. Mobius had it right from the start, its happened before, it will happen again. He banned them from the group and no doubt would ban them if they got in and did it again. As for FD, they want to sell licences so there lacklustre input was entirely predictable.


So much fluff over so little substance as I see it. The comment along the lines ' The game would die without us' was priceless btw.

If you "play the bad guy", you don't laugh at someone losing his father due to cancer or state that you don't care about such things and put your real name behind it. In an interview about playing a game.

Should be clear, shouldn't it? Like .. duh?

Yup. Up to the age of 18 you can blame society, your parents and bad socialization for your poor behaviour.
After that it's your fault. No excuses (obvious midlife crisis symptoms and feeling bogged down by family obligations are not "reasons"), no weaseling.

This community has some really awesome people in it. Focusing on the unsavory drama is, while totally understandable, missing that point. I've made more friends on this forum than I've done in any other game community ever.

There is too much hate already in the world... personally I don't see the point in ripping each other apart over a video game.

You're writing for a very small audience then even on these forums. ;) but maybe that has been an intentional filter?

In either case, I always enjoy your big idea posts. Regardless of how practical they are to implement, they help to shape part of the debate at least.

Indeed. While Everyone's Favourite Furry may represent one of the most disliked groups in ED, he (she, it?) has done so with style and accomplishment. An excellent ambassador, for perhaps the wrong group. There's nothing stopping GF from creating their own group and starting from scratch - that could lead to some very interesting possibilities. Dump the guilt-by-association, and be the decent player and orator that you always were.

I've been flying for the SDC banner for nearly 4 months now. I was involved with them before I joined but always had a neutral stance. I do not enjoy the current state of the BGS/PP so if you've been paying attention to my previous posts there isn"t anything new from what I've said in the past. I haven't changed my mind. I don't agree or disagree with what happened with mobius and the recent twitch sniping. I personally don't get involved in these events but I'm not saying I don't find them interesting, funny and amusing.

Many people here do not understand that not everybody in SDC ride the same boat or play the same way. I just want to fly a spaceship and blow other cmdrs.

No, quite the opposite.

You are abusing the fact you can tell who's a human player and who is new for easy kills - you're not working within the game and that's just a fact you'll continue to ignore as long as you get a laugh out of people getting hurt.

The saddest thing is you think this makes you good at the game.... I've been playing a tiny amount of time in comparison and according to your proudly displayed stats I've matched you at everything but killing, and we know that doesn't count as you've not been after any challenges.

So dress it up with whatever excuses you like, your actions prove you're talking from the exhaust ports. You're not upset because we're trying to force anything on you - you're upset because you can't force Frontier Dev to make the game more how you like it.

Why would they make it into something that upsets so many people? Easier to delete and refund the few players ruining it for everyone else.

look you think I feel better because I blow up other cmdrs? fine what ever fit your boat seems like you already made your mind on the matter anyway. However let's make something very clear in your little stubborn head. I don't put a tag on people to me it doesn't make any difference what you fly or who you are, I will blow you up if I see you and if I die then that's just part of the game, no hard feeling. Look you can make assumptions all day long and claim what ever you want but at the end of the day if I have fun killing sidewinders or eagles left and right then that's what I'm going to do whether you like it or not.

I think i've been pretty honest about how I play the game so stop saying i'm giving you excuses and dressing it in something else, got it? I'm getting tired of people like you who can't read plain text and try to make thing's more complicated than what they are when all we are doing is blowing up internet pixel spaceships in a video game. I could care less if frontier change the game or not. I would hope or I would love if they could but at the end of the day I have no expectations from them. I have no problem turning off the plug or moving on from this game unlike some people here.

I just want to fly a spaceship and blow other cmdrs, simple to understand.

This is something I just don't understand, you have people here who get butthurt and angry yet they've never got out of solo and did PVP against us and they are the first one to shed a tear and cry out loud like we are terrible people when all we really did was blowing up internet spaceships. There is literally no hard feeling when we blow you up and if you get angry then maybe it's time to take a break or play a better suited game for you.

At the end of the day, we are all regular people and just because we play the game differently and blow you up doesn't mean we are bad people.

It's a video game.
