Where is the news regarding 2.1/Engineers?

AFAICS this was the last update 1 month ago in newsletter #114:

Because The Engineers (2.1) is such a big expansion we decided to move back the release date by a few weeks to make sure it is of the best possible quality and lives up to our high standards. We’re now aiming to launch the beta in May, but as always we’ll be keeping you up to date with all the progress as we get ready for the next game-changing instalment of Elite Dangerous: Horizons. David Braben says it best:

“We made a decision to push back the 2.1 release by around six weeks, this in turn will push the quality of The Engineers up which is undoubtedly a good thing for the development team, the game and the community. We understand that this means you’ll have to wait a little bit longer, but we’re confident that it will be worth the wait.”

We know release windows and general content?

Thats the thing, we dont know about the general content. 2.1 will contain stupid ammounts of stuff not related to the title of the patch. Their ability to reach their very general release windows (remember 2.1 is scheduled for 'spring', which means any release before june 20th is 'according to plan'!) will depend on whether they will 'only' add the title-elements, or add more.

I'll be very interested to see how the beta for 2.1 plays out.

@bitstorm good point, we may not have seen the last of the delays but we have almost certainly seen the biggest of them. I'd be interested to see if they would opt for more beta time or a later beta in the event of needing to delay the release.

The link was a link to the post about the delay we knew about, made on 2 March (a month ago) so what are you referring to as 'today's delay'?

This isn't the only discussion about 2.1 that I was actively involved in. Also isn't there a link to a post from 03/03? From memory one of the links on page one elaborates on NL114's timeline.

EDIT: I'm obviously a month behind [haha] [haha] [haha] I've spent way too much time looking at stars and nowhere near enough looking at a calendar.

[big thanks to the DEVS!] I feel sorry for the rank and file artists and coders, expected to put in extra hours due to what reason? Who's mistake? Or is it normal?
I find a happy developer makes a better product.

This is starting to annoy me, actually. I wish they'd just give us some new toys. :)
If you are that easily annoyed giving you an incomplete patch isn't going to make you any happier.
If the engineers aren't ready, at least drop the updated crime-and-punishment system. At the moment it's looking like six months between significant updates!
This is garbage. The FDevs have been excellent at releasing patches regularly. The delay for 2.1 is understandable and indicative of their dedication to the project. Your impatience isn't their issue.

Here is the issue with this:
.
Next time I'll wait until they are released before I buy.
.
You wait till the end of the season and buy, but wait, season 3 begins and as we all expect buy one season get all the previous included. So you buy season 3, and wow you have all of season 2 but wait! What is that you need to wait because you bought season 3 and it has multiple releases also so now you need to wait till it is done, and now you have it to buy but wait! Yes season 4, and that has multiple. You see the pattern you will never get any seasons unless you wait for all of season 10 to be released to get what your asking for, the complete final season to ensure all the previous seasons are complete as well. As a better suggestion why not buy as soon as the feature for that season is the one you want and buy it then and let all that follows for the season be a bonus? For me landing on planets was the huge selling point and driving the dune buggy as I look at it, is just a lot of fun I would have hated to wait for. So to me the rest of the season is icing on the cake. I got what I wanted and the rest will add to the fun, but I got what I wanted most. Well I do want a larger vehicle to carry more then 2 tons of items I hate going back to the ship that often to unload.
.
Also as I said in another thread other games in production say a feature is weeks away. Months pass, and then it is close. Then the entire concept is trashed and they announce you already have those features and what is missing will come eventually. In other words delays from weeks to months to never, and no one has an issue with it and they actually justify it. With FD and Elite we get a game that is moving forward and a 6-8 week delay to ensure quality is not to much to ask, yet some feel entitled to it now, just so they can bit*h later that it is buggy and they should have waited and fixed it before releasing it. Have seen it time after time on these boards.

The habitual whiners are to blame for the silence on FD's part. Personally i would like to hear all the details, warts and all, seeing as i find the development process quite fascinating. But the loud minority can't handle it,so we must unfortunately be left out of the loop.

True.

But my wallet "is" an issue if I decide not to support the game

p.s. unfortunatly I am LTE owner so what I have said doesn't apply me. Netherless It can be true for someone else.
And even If I am LTE I can decide to not support the game anymore by not purchasing any more skins. Which is, indeed, what I am doing right now sine it's a month i haven't logged in the game...
