Perfect balance? Elite? And just how much Kool-Aid have you imbibed lately?
Actually I said in many respects, which probably should be many aspects, but there you go. Many of the design decisions Frontier have made I agree with and like, an they what make E: D unique and not just another game going along with the crowd, a crowd that is making all MMOs look all the same. In some respects they are making first person shooters all look the same as well.
One of there best decisions, which I suspect many publishers would have bulk at was to make players have to travel around in this game and that there no instant teleportation, and this has also created unique spots like Hutton Orbital with it own fan created lore. And the huge 400 billion star galaxy.
I also like the fact that you are just a small cog in the galaxy and aren't all that important, no one will miss you if you die, which is pretty unique as usually every game have you saving the galaxy, multiple times if the game goes on long enough.
Another choice I like is that there no mage, warrior, healer, or in STO security, engineering, science rubbish going on,
and no skills trees to climb or skills points that need to allocated to specific skills to artificially slow you down.
There are a few things I do disagree with, like all cargo being 1 tonne, the insurance system not making much sense, unlimited long range exploration sensors, Powerplay not implemented as good as it could have been.
fuel scooping should be harder and more risky, exploration is a tad to fast and easy, I personally disagree with their being solo, group and open play.
but these are choices and on the whole I can see the logic of why Frontier have made the decisions it has done and we know some of these will change, Exploration will almost certainly get tougher in the future for example, we have been warned that traveling with no shields won't be a option in the future.
