The Ed Lewis appreciation society

Yup, I'll jump aboard this bandwagon - how could you fail to like anyone with such lovely shiny hair, boundless energy and eternal optimism!

And ditto all those who beaver away behind the scenes.

Similarly the volunteer mods, of whom I am in continual awe, endlessly trying to heard the unruly squabble of forum cats.

Anyone who travels 65,000 LYs in their free time just to make an exploration video deserves an award for employee of the month. Ed is not only an FD rep, he is also a member of the community and a full fledged explorer.

Go Ed Go! And make it back safe OK?

I agree, Ed is a cool guy, like the videos he makes. TBH I never encountered a game community like that of Elite and the engagement of FD with the community is nice to see.

Tonight Educating Ed was fantastic! Great to see Ed arrive at Darwin's Legacy, Beagle Point o7

Tons of modesty and humour from the man. Well done Ed

Yeah tbo I thought that's got the makings of a good SW movie from watchin' the trailer, can't be worse than TFA
At least I am not the only one that thinks they made a horrible movie on that one.

Oh and to stay on topic, go Ed, love the shiny hair!

lol a bit of a dramatic thread title but I want to publicly say that I think Ed Lewis has been one of the greatest things to happen to this game outside of the actual game development. I'm not easily pleased and nor do I give praise to suck up in any fashion.

I've been here from the start and at times things were less than cordial between the community and devs. We've been through some really difficult times, and will likely go through many more, but I think it was a matter of sheer genius to hire this guy. I couldn't do his job, not in a thousand lifetimes, and it takes someone with his personality to do what he has done in creating great community streams and connecting with us all.

I also happen to think it allows FD to shine in a way they never did before. Ed puts the personal face on FD and as someone who cares about the game and its future I just wanted to take some time out to say thanks Ed. I think you and Zac have really turned things around in the way we relate to Frontier. :)

Really Ed, creating a fake profile and complementing yourself? Lol

Having finally met him in person last weekend at Elitemeet in Glasgow instead of via a live stream video feed or Skype, I can confirm that he is one funny guy. Utterly dedicated to his job and the fun we all have.

The hours he works are crazy (almost as many as that Antonaci fella).

Another positive thread today! Something in the water I think...

Anyway, yeah.... Ed's a good guy and so is Zac. As a mod I'll just add that I think they both are very supportive of we mods as well, and I know they work hard to make this entire community thrive.

Yep I'll agree with that 100%...

Ed does still owe me a pint though as it's his round... :p

Ed? Ed? ED!!!!

:D

That's one of the funniest things I've read in a while :D

Unless you know the things that she has been doing, which you clearly don't, then perhaps you should avoid making assumptions.

She was doing a good job and publicly looking forward to another round of changes she already had on her test setup. Then everything was canned, she even complained on her twitter briefly about it and then, silence. After long silence, two posts wholly unrelated to the AI.
If you wish to repaint history to make it look like fdev didn't stop her from doing a good job on AI, you have to wait until people forget about her.

It is likely, she was reassigned, but there was no word about that. While we are praising customer relations, this is, for me, one of the biggest turning points. Moment in time, where fdev stopped caring.

Can't argue with the OP one bit. Just watched his touchdown at Beagle Point from last night's livestream and the moment when he's left literally speachless for about a minute afterwards. Wonderful.

Is he actually crying? :D
Well done Ed, we salute you sir!
