One time? There's no precedent for that. You should avoid all activities, not just smuggling if that's the case. It affects more than just smuggling. It affects any type of interdiction. Again, happened to me 4 times in my Cutter yesterday delivering goods to the CG. The instant interdiction, that is.
you won't get any compensation for that as there are no missions failing by just being interdicted.

Doesn't matter. If I had lost or failed anything one of those times, I would have turned in a ticket each time. There is no precedent saying it can only happen once. Not getting paid is the same as losing money when it isn't your fault.

it's really simple .. if you get scanned you failed .. no matter if it was a conceived bug or just hardcore NPC's .. I've made the run, and I have failed the run .. it's the way things go. (IMO)

Didn't "get caught". It was a bug that caused it. Normally, you have an opportunity to get out of scan range before it completes. NPC's can bug out an scan you instantly, though. Therefore, it's a bug.

Nope, he got caught, just didnt see the ninja cop hiding in the bushes and now hes paying the price.

He got caught because of a fault in the game. That's a customer service issue. It's not wrong to ask them to at least reset the mission for you. It's an automatic fail that you can't control.

Which is why he should turn in a ticket. Let them fix their mistake. It is FD's mistake, afterall. You paid money for a product. That product is defective. Asking them to fix the defect is not a bad thing or unreasonable. That's all this is. A defective product.

I am not discussing with you, I am telling you how reality is: support does not compensate 'potential profit'. Deal with that as you see fit.

Since when? Do you have a citation for this? This is basically contract work with payment upon completion. It's their defective product that caused a failure. Once again, asking for them to reset the mission is not unreasonable in any way if they won't compensate for it. Like I said, I would at least ask for a mission reset. Let you go back to finishing it or fail on your own. FD has pretty good customer service in this regard.

Yes, this is what FD told me when I lost a ship due to a geometry bug in the first release of 2.0. They dont give back missions, I am not even sure if Support can create missions in an account. You can keep talking about what you think is or is not reasonable. It doesn't matter, you can ask whatever you want, but you wont get it.

I've done 100's of runs and have never been scanned sitting on a pad inside a station. I've been scanned shortly after landing on an outpost pad though, as I should since im completely exposed. That to me isnt a bug. Also Ive yet to be scanned out of nowhere and fail my missions. A fed always appeared before a scan started. Although they sometimes tend to appear seemingly out of nowhere (damn ninja cops), you still have time to counter the scan.

Either way whats he going to claim? He didnt lose anything and its no certainty he was going to make delivery. For all you know he would have gotten scanned in the very next system and failed all his missions anyway.

So, because it has never happened to you, it doesn't exist. Got it. It has been talked on many occasions by a lot of people. I was unaware that you bear the standard of everyone.

No notification of when the scan started or finished. Could have been instant for all we know right there. Never happened to you, though.. so I guess this is fake.

Again, citation, not anecdote. It could also be as simple as who you deal with.

Simply telling you my experience. I never said I was an authority on the subject. Also you didnt answer my question, whats he going to claim?

The only thing they could do would be to shut down the game if they had more than 2 customers like you :D

He would claim that he never even got a scan notification and failed the mission due to a scan. Then ask if they could possibly reset the mission.

I've never even said they should do it. Most of the people in this thread are mocking the OP for even trying. That's my issue.

Hyperbole much? If I'm unsatisfied with something, I ask for it to be fixed. It's part of being a paying customer. Luckily, this stuff is rare. However, it does happen. Thanks for the ad hominem, as well.

Again: I am not debating anything. You dont like my answer? Feel free to ignore it or ask Support yourself. I am not your butler. [rolleyes] I'll leave you, your obsession and agressiveness to yourself, if you dont mind.

I lost my T7 full of gold early last year due to a bug. I kissed the side of the exit slot and instantly blew up. I got all my money back and didn't even have to ask for it. So I think you should get reimbursed for any collateral loss if it's not your fault. Don't know how they can give you your lost time back though. Perhaps when someone comes up with a time machine.

You make a claim, it is on you to provide proof. I'm simply stating that the attacks on the OP are unwarranted and that it is not an unreasonable request. You shoudl read the whole thread and see how people respond. They act like the OP is the one in the wrong for even asking the question.

Well, it was interesting for a little while, but seeing one poster take over the thread cheapens it immensely. Seriously, the opinion of one person over and over is not that important. Let it go.

Like I said. Mission reset would suffice, and I would consider that compensation. Compensation doesn't have to be monetary, after all.

Or, you could not read it. I'm speaking against those that attacked the OP.

Is it possible that he didnt notice the Fed? Not saying a bug isnt possible, and sure report it, but asking for "compensation"? Come on..

Sorry didnt watch the video you posted as its so old its not really relevant in this conversation.

Of course it's relevant. It's a bug that probably hasn't been addressed, like many that have been around since beta. It's an example of what is described.
