The Buckyball Racing Club Presents: Total Recall (2nd - 17th April 3302)

In other news, CMdr Madbilly has finally taken the Enigma Machine out of the waiting room and is now no doubt wondering how the hell he's going to shave a further 23 minutes off his time.
Well, let's just say there's a lot of potential in my time! To my list of hiccups on my first run I can add having to rebind the SRV controls! Hopefully they won't need doing again. Also I've realised I have another ship with a small advantage in jump range that can actually mean one less jump is needed, I just need to pop over to Lembava and pick it up.

Give me a few hours to haul the Anaconda back. I can see I'm going to have to start taking this race seriously.

Main rep' tank drained.

Here's the complex software I use for my planning:

Gah! Where are the Rep Rats when you need them (We have rep, you don't, any questions).

Also ... did some research this morning (following on from Saturday's Hutton Endurance Rally) and have come up with the following handy diagram.

I have also encountered this annoying problem. Do they expect me to go and +rep some random stupid posts just to be allowed to +rep the ones I really want to endorse?

And, to save some of you the bother of writing an explanatory post: Yes, I understand why the rule exists. I really do. Honestly.

Day thirteen - afternoon update.

'tis the day before Friday
and from where I'm sat
no commander is stirring
not even a cat

The Recall shot of the day award goes to ..

One that I'm sure you can all relate to! :D

Bang goes the neighbourhood!
Yep, I thought the same thing, no chance of a clean run in open now, especially in ships with such low boost as the Asp Scout and DBX. These ships are ideal rares traders so they'll be top targets.

The link doesn't seem to work. I've had problems embedding the JPGs I make before. Was it this one?

Brutal track conditions this morning. The planets are all moving into exactly the wrong positions and running the course in the fewest number of jumps will either be impossible or require the longest, most fuel-expensive route until and unless things clear up.

No CG activity however.

Day fourteen

Aries: Your planets are not in favorable alignment at the moment, you should stay indoors and tackle some of those jobs you've been putting off. Later on today you might receive unexpected good news although not in its usual form. Avoid tall dark strangers at all costs, especially those circling Epsilon Indi in a Fer De Lance.

Just one new entry today, an unexpected but welcome appearance from memory scraper extraordinaire, Cmdr Khelder. More comfortable on high-G worlds, with all eight wheels planted firmly on the ground, nevertheless an excellent first attempt. Oh, and I haven't yet received a ship name from you so I've assigned a temporary one based on your video evidence :p

Day fourteen - afternoon update.

Nothing to report and no Recall shot of the day either I'm afraid.

Sorry, I'm just in a mad Friday rush otherwise I'd have come up with something.

Anyway, as previously mentioned I shall be away most of the weekend so it's unlikely I'll get around to doing a scoreboard update until the final one on Monday. That means you won't know what anyone else is up to (unless they drop tantalising hints and taunts in here) so probably best to assume that they've beaten your time and jolly well go out there and beat them back.

Keep the banter going in my absence, say hi to any last minute newcomers that pop in, and I'll see you all for awards and a celebratory brunch sometime on Monday (Tuesday at the absolute latest).

Have a good weekend y'all.

Alec

I just knocked 4 minutes off my time by not trying to go fast lol. It still had 4 additional jumps due to obscured planets and 2 interdictions!

Since we have some indoor weather (rain) where I am, I'll have a go at this sometime today, I think this is a great idea.
I'll scout first to see if I can follow instructions in the original post, then perhaps I'll grab a ship that no one has attempted the race in yet...

Good luck! Choose something silly and wreck them all! [praise]
