What takes you out of the game?

FD must implement this as soon as possible! The game will never be any good without space whales!

Identikit stations - a little more variety would go a long way.

There's about dozen basic forms of space stations/outposts, add twice or so to that as variants of each (color, ads, faction decals, couple variants of station innards)...

How much is "little more"?

I'm talkin 'bout the stations. Yeah there are a few different ones but I'd like see greater variety. I take it from your post that you disagree. That's OK I didn't ask you to agree.

Something called "Real Life", that I have to play in order to get something called "money", in order to be able to get food, clothing, and shelter for long enough to get back out amongst the stars.

Nah, I don't disagree - just wondering how much (and what sort) of more variety is thought, as there is quite some if one just looks around.

Just a quick list of things that take me out of the game...

- Asteroids loading in when dropping into rings.
- Planetary surfaces "jolting" when jumping from orbital cruise.
- AI not following rules set by the game (jump range, ammo limit, etc.)
- Lack of persistence with AI (kill em or not, they'll come back anyway)
- Lack of identifying characteristics between systems; regardless of government, security, faction, etc... they're all kinda samey.
- Radio chatter is repetitive and desperately needs to be updated.
- Drones spawning magically from beneath the ground on planetary outposts.
- Instancing issues abound.

Doing a smuggling run and getting away with it and I've done everything text book (so far)

A couple of jumps to do and all happy, before the first drop off.. BUT I get thirsty (and too confident) "and start boozing..."

By the time I line myself up and zoom in on silent running, I've usually downed half a glass of the special stuff; and my fingers go to jelly

..and I smash the kids playpen outside the entrance and get scanned.

3 times that's happened to me. Ah the lovely booze!

Where do I quit too? team fortress 2, just to remind myself how good ED is and do an hour of rocket jumping (good old school therapy)

Then back to the start again and try it sober the next day. :)

Bugs.. oh and theres many.
Boring, repeating, and confusing missions with no clear goal or location or advancement for the next mission. You start the game doing missions.. 500 hours later you're still doing the exact same missions.
Repetition/Grinding the same thing over and over with no end.

Somebody knocking at the front door ....the dog barking , and then I'm thrown into a slight panic looking for the nearest station to land the ruddy ship! :D

For me it's when hitting up random cmdrs in open with a "greeting" and "good day", feeling like a spaceman in my spaceship, and they start going on about "good spawn" or "minmax built" or "grinding"

That's said, it's far from often.
