Another one, really? I just wonder why you bother to hang around here, if the game is no good in your opinion.

Because I paid for the Premium Beta(all the DLC), and I care of the direction the game takes.

I feel this update will be in the right direction, but as this comes from FD we need to wait and see because as always the ideas are great but the implementations are very bad.

Some people are able to put a negative spin on everything. But low and behold, you will get some additional content for the main game, for free.

Its not free aditional content, you paid for it. People forget that very easily.

Looks like there's something for everyone in this update :) Though I can't believe that 32 people have voted for the cockpit clock over any of the other things.

The poll allows multiple choices per vote, so I guess quite a lot of forum members just selected the clock in addition to something else ;)

I would like to be able to find live Cmdr. activity on the charts.

I would like the station dashboard puppet to show orientation before the drop.

I would like to be able to bookmark dead stars, fun places, favorite routs.

Good poll - makes interesting reading too, for me - greater mission variety and design would be my main interest - but I can't ignore the Huge weapons being added, I've wanted those from the start!

Cant wait to ditch discovery scanner and find use for Nav beacons! I currently fly from station to stations doing the most lucrative job. Sadly the scanner is mandatory now, but soon my way of playing will be much more fun!

A very tough poll as a lot of the items merge. aforementioned instance upgraded mission system includes persistent NPC's and USS in specific locations.

I ran dice for jobs for so long. Figured the scanner was good only for picking up the mapping credits. Then I dumped it for a small fuel scoop on the front and filled out all cargo racks from stem to stern. Free's up the group slot so all I have on the stick is fire.

I look forward to the wealth of new bugs :p

Am I doin' it right? :D

Oh I'm sure there will be those. Ran into one last night that I reported in the Horizons beta that's still around. Flickering shading on some ice moons. With the new lighting changes, it might become a rainbow like disco ball effect. Can't wait!

I must admit I am a little dubious about the scanning of the nav beacon to give you the system scan data. Kind of negates the need for a Adv Scanner, and makes achieving the ranks a lot simpler. Albeit Elite will still take some doing, strikes me as being something of a shortcut.

You could scan every system in the bubble and not come anywhere close to ranking far in Exploration, trust me. Not to mention the bubble systems aren't worth much compared to what you can find beyond the bubble. That's all assuming you get any kind of credit for scanning a Nav beacon which hasn't been revealed yet.

I'm looking forward to balancing of mission rewards and the profits from different professions. Personally, I hope for a massive increase in mission rewards. I also like the fact that with the patch, the need for random wandering is atleast somewhat decreased. Scanning USS in SC, spatially based USS, and showing system state in galaxy map goes a long way.

I would very much like to see a similar rework of planetary POIs also, I really can't understand why we have to randomly fly around to stumble upon a POI or why the blue circle has to vanish from the scanner when getting closer. Not sure if anything has been promised on that though?

Granted, and here's hoping not! :)

Nope, I think that's a misunderstanding. Someone asked something similar a while ago and I think Michael Brookes answered that by scanning a nav beacon you get the information about the objects in a system, but not as exploration data that you can sell but just similar to when you buy system information from Universal Cartographics, which makes a lot of sense, IMO. You get the information about a system by scanning its nav beacon, but you don't get it as exploration data and therefore it doesn't count towards exploration rank progress.

...(Abbreviated)....

For me, it's definitely that we are finally getting some persistent NPCs and faces for NPCs, in addition to the reworked mission system.

So, what do you guys and gals are looking forward to the most?
.
Hi :)

I voted for persistent NPC's (Faces for NPC's would have been my second vote if I'd had one ;) ).
The reason I voted this way is that I personally think these features could reduce the impersonal nature of the game, especially thinking in terms of the current Solo mode.
It would in my opinion also benefit the mission structure by adding more purpose to these mechanics, other than just monetary rewards, or rank. Future passenger missions is one prime example (there are others) where I can see (or imagine) semi or persistent NPC's & Faces bringing 'real life' to the background simulation. :)

Jack :)

I should elaborate on my previous post.

As a solo player, the grind to get any of the new "features" will likely be too much for me to bother with, therefore, nothing on the list interests me overmuch. As it has been pointed out, persistent NPC's SHOULD grab my attention, but they do not, as they will likely pertain to grinding.

Note that this isn't me asking for a "I win" button insofar as putting forth effort to gain anything new, but it IS me complaining about the ridiculous amounts that (highly likely) will be needed. I haven't done much investigation into the matter, admittedly. Past experiences with both this game and others suggest a strong tendency towards grind mechanics.....which is the main reason I do not participate in PowerPlay or community goals. Just too grindy....which is what I fear will be the inevitable outcome of the new "content". More grind. Therefore, I am not looking forward to much, if anything on that list.
